How severe was your cramping from IUI?

I had my first IUI today. I was fine during the procedure but as soon as it was done I had severe cramping. Obviously cramping is normal but how bad was yours and how long did it last? For
Me this was worse than a period, like literally got off the table, fell to me knees, double over and almost vomited. How long does this last? I’m supposed to go back to work post and instead I’m 30 minutes post and curled up in a ball in pain and cold sweats.

Don’t know what to think

I’m doin a letrozole cycle (unmonitored) this cycle. I’m usually a day 13/14 ovulator. I’m guessing this peak is a false one though? I’m also confused if that’s the case that I haven’t ovulated yet.

When to switch REIs?

How did you know when to switch REIs?

We started with this clinic in April. It’s our first. I have a decent amount of medical knowledge from my job, but I’m not a physician. My doctor ONLY did a cbc, vit d, AMH and pelvic ultrasound for my work up. Which felt lacking.

AMH 1.59, AFC 12

He labeled me unexplained infertility. Explained after ER before transfer they do a hysteroscopy. During my stims I asked if at the time of hysteroscopy they could do an endometrial biopsy to submit for receptiva testing. I was told ASRM recommends against that (not true). I asked about any supplements and was told to take none. I asked specifically about COQ10 and was told no.

During stims I was on a very high dose of follistim- 450 IU a day. I’ve read from doctors that in their clinical experience this can result in worse egg quality, but I can’t find a good paper that supports that. Before stims started I found out this clinic batches patients. Ie- you have to get your period by a certain day, you go on birth control, every woman that is going to go in lets say June comes off BC the same day and all start their cycles at the same time. I think it’s done that way because he’s the only doctor in the clinic, and it was mentioned to me he didn’t want to work every weekend (okay fair. I get it). On day 12 of stims I had I believe 6 follicles between 15-19 but 9 that were 12-15. I was triggered that day. I could be wrong, but it felt like I was triggered early so we could do the ER on a Friday instead of a Saturday.

For ER, 5 eggs collected, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 1 day 5 blast that’s submitted for PGT-A testing now.

I haven’t actually talked to my doctor since the initial consult and the 5 minutes before my ER. All updates have been my nurse. I would love a debrief on what would change for another cycle, but that doesn’t seem easy to come by either.

I’m not really sure if I’m being reasonable with my concerns and should go elsewhere (unfortunately that means traveling much further. But I guess overall better if there’s less cycles). Or if my medical knowledge is just enough to be annoying.

I know they say the hardest part about IVF is emotional

I know people say the hardest part about IVF is emotional, and I think even going into it with that knowledge I underestimated it.
I feel like all of the appointments and how much I have to travel for them is making me terrible at my job. Which is unfortunate when it’s something I worked for like 12 years to be able to have. It’s something I’m passionate about and love. But even harder than that is feeling like my spouse is the only one that gets it. My friends aren’t mean about it by any means. But it just feels SO lonely.

My mom firmly believes we don’t need IVF or fertility assistance and tells me to “just relax and it will
Happen.” While my friends are wrapped in their own lives, and either don’t want kids or aren’t at that place on the lives and just don’t understand.

It feels like I am sacrificing all of these parts of myself to try to get what I’ve dreamt of, without a guarantee and not a lot of support.

Egg retrieval today

I need some encouragement. I’m 35 with low normal AMH of 1.5. Today I had my egg retrieval. They only got 5. My baseline antral follicle count was 12. On Tuesday I had 5 follicles that were about 15-17 mm and 9 that were between 10-15mm.

I was expecting more. And I’m so heartbroken. My insurance only covers one cycle a year. I also have to take off work to travel for this.

I’ll find out maturation and fertilization tomorrow and I’m so so nervous.

I find out maturation and fertilization rate tomorrow but I’m nervous.

Need encouragement?

I’m 35. We’ve been trying for about 8 months. Nothing. I’ve never been pregnant. Saw an REI at 6 months. My AMH was 1.5. AFC 12. Sperm count normal. My REI recommended going to IVF if we wanted a child sooner rather than later. We were game for it after learning my egg quality will
Only decline.

Fast forward. I’m day 8 of stims. I’m on a high dose of follistim. I have 5 follicles that are about 12 mm and 9 that are <10.

How worried I should be this cycle is going to be low yield?? I have to travel pretty far to go to my clinic so I have to take almost 3 weeks off work for this. For somebody that only gets 5 weeks off a year, this is a big deal. I’m worried the time and money will have been for nothing.
