So the tea we posted here got to the news! In frame Sayani Gupta & plagirism accusations!

So there was a Reddit discussion that broke out the mild tea, and I guess the newspapers followed the trail after it got removed from a film festival screening !!

So, here’s the tea i have found after this article has been published!

Apparently, Sayani has gone a little wild trying to convince people that the girl whose film/doc she allegedly picked it up from is only doing this for “fame.” After months of ignoring the student/junior, Sayani has finally responded to the association, and apparently the news is that she’s freaked out.

The FTII junior allegedly has proof of email and text exchanges between Sayani and Paramita, her co-producer and an FTII alum, showing that they expressed interest and that the junior subsequently shared the FOR PREVIEW cut with them.

Student groups are apparently calling the whole thing embarrassing, and even some people within her own circle are questioning what’s going on. From what I’m hearing, she seems to be banking on this eventually passing and is pushing hard to convince people around her that the allegations are untrue.
Whether it passes or not, this has clearly become much bigger than a Reddit discussion. 👀

Btw pls see the instagram comment section too of THR! I feel bad for her but till we dont know the truth i guess people will show anger. Too many people ahve exprienced plagirism in the hands of average clout celebs who think they will go unnoticed

Mild tea: Sayani Gupta recently directed a short film based on another indie filmmaker’s work of 6 years without permission 👀

Mild tea: i hang out w a few ftii folks because i am assiting someone.

I heard Sayani Gupta recently directed a short called “Aasmani” w Nikhil advani and dia mirza and Ravathi in the cast & there are allegations that its premise closely resembles an indie filmmaker’s documentary she had been developing for the last 5-6 years

Apparently, the filmmaker is a junior from FTII, had shared a rough trailer with Sayani around 2 years ago, when Sayani was reportedly interested in coming on board. The deal didnt go thru which is pretty common w all this but they knew about the project!

The documentary has since been through major doc forums and is known within the indie film community.

Now Aasmani reportedly uses a similar world and premise centred on an older woman and her relationship with her vintage car w Nikhil Advani and Dia Mirza attached as producers.
If this is true it’s honestly shameful. Young/indie filmmakers already struggle to get their work made, and having more established names allegedly take from their ideas can completely derail years of work. Obviously, this is based on what I’ve heard and would need to be verified.

I want to direct films and i know how easily ideas get picked up and you cant even fight it because its exhausting and it can really discourage you from making films all together

Honouring the brave souls who protected their feed aesthetics during all this chaos 🕊️ Inframe: spineless people

I know it’s a long list, but here are a few prominent names who conveniently chose silence.
Need I remind everyone how Gen Z came together to defend Apoorva “The Rebel Kid” Mukhija during her controversy? The same generation she built her platform on couldn’t even get a single dedicated show of support in return.
Meanwhile, Radhika Seth and Meghana Kaur are posting travel dumps, with one or two stories about the protests casually sandwiched in between, as if solidarity is just another aesthetic slide.
Komal Pandey, who otherwise always has plenty to say about trends, culture, and social conversations, somehow had very little to say when students were on the streets.
Ananya Panday constantly positions herself as someone who represents and understands the youth, but when the youth are literally protesting and demanding change, the silence becomes difficult to ignore.
And then there is Alia Bhatt, currently promoting Alpha and themes of patriotism. Patriotism seems to be a great movie concept and marketing tool, but apparently not important enough when real people are demanding accountability and support.
Influencers and celebrities are among the most privileged people in this country. A single story from them can reach millions and bring more attention to a movement. If you can ask people to watch a film, buy a product, stream a song, or support a brand, you can certainly spare a few posts for students and causes affecting an entire generation.
You cannot continuously profit from Gen Z’s attention, engagement, and loyalty and then conveniently disappear when that same generation needs solidarity.
And honestly, the list goes on and on.

Do you think cafe culture can work in a place like birgunj?

I have been home for sometime in birgunj where we own good enough piece of land that we dont have to rent. The location is unlike any place else and it also actually has a swimming pool. If i had money i would have turned it into something better but rn i am thinjing if cafe can do it. I know i cant charge a high price and i dont even want, i want to create a space like the ones in ktm or even hetauda. How do i know i will get a footfall and my target are younger girls and boys who go to ktm or delhi for work and education and know how it works but im not sure if i will get people coming. I dont want a fancy coffee place. Very small and homely with chia as well as a few more things like special home bakes and clean food that compliments coffee.

This pic is from Ktm near Krishna paoroti in kamalpokhari. Was thinking of this vibe but serving good coffee and chia! Rate also under 150-200₹

What do you all think and if there is someone interested in exploring birgunj as a coffee market. Dm me.

Pls dont send wastefull messages. This is serious

I find this big guy v problematic and Ranaw rajani has invited him! Post the biryani rant but dosent this kaustabh guy also fall in the same category

So i love relationshit advice and recently saw Rajani posting and calling out Pranit More and telling him how to handle such situations! I have seen Ranauq do it as well HOWEVER!!!! He recently called that problematic guy who doea a lot cheap women jokes and was even defending Pranit more asking ppl to let hum be etc bs! Now i get there is a diff in two forms of comedy (bombay posh & avg dilli content comedyo) and i get inviting amd being open to all kinds of comedy and when people rub off on people one can assume their beleief systems would also! What i fail to understand is that such dudes get away! He was also invited to tanmya reacts and the problem is WHY!!!! When a 370₹ buryani story comes out everyone suddenly is jumping on what the right thing to do it but what about calling these fuckers out ont heir misogynistic standsups where they dont even think women are human beings & their manchild is suddenly on stage and spewing their irrational and misogynistic words!

Why not call these people out too??? What us this sausage fest and boys hostel attitude when you dont want to offend but you will call them out when its already being discussed?!!! Bloody uninvite fuckers who do not respect women!!! At any given point in their lives if they have agreed or sided w a misogynist or cracked jokes get them off your stage if you cant get him off comedy scenes no? Same w tanmay! Inving this guy to his show! I have seen other episodes but im sure they have invited v problematic men

Men still dominate the comedy scenes and i really wish that Ranauq rajani will understand that calling them out when everyone else is calling him out is great but calling them out before and not really inviting them to the show is something i would like to see! Otherwise its all performative and convenient on rajani’s part? Pure bs
