I went to Uni in Glasgow over 30 years ago, very fond memories.
As I’m Irish I really do not do well in warm weather, I was planning on spending a few weeks in France but given the hot temperatures and fires in France I am reconsidering my plans.
Planning on spending 3-4 weeks in a nice Scottish town village
What are places I should consider?
I want to stay central in town no car, close to train station
Nice town feel, good pubs, coffee and of course history and nice walks.
One hour to Edinburgh/ Glasgow would be great, but not a deal breaker.
Looking for some lovely treasures that don’t get too busy

I know Eliquis prevents a stroke
Taking statins can reduce incidence of stroke and heart attack.
I have high Lipoprotein, history of AFib.
I have been off Eliquis for a while
I don’t know my ApoB number
I was prescribed Repatha, to lower LDL doesn’t really affect the Lipoprotein A number
Would it be advisable to take a low dose Eliquis 5mg until Pelacarsen is available?

Looking for some advice.
I am a 60 year old female recently retired
3 years ago, I had an ablation ny an amazing Electrophysiologist in NYC
I’m doing well, recently had bloods done, HDL great, triglycerides great score of 5 calcium score, zero on carotid and I had a ct scan of my heart 2024 no structural issues all ok
My LDL was elevated, I’m sure being away and having lattes with whole milk and croissants didn’t help. I am super sensitive to meds, 3 visits to the ER after my ablation as I Coujd not tolerate the meds, and recently sick for four days after a GI endoscopy with twilight sedation.
I also suffer from muscle cramps so I was reluctant to go on statins.
So they also checked my Lipoprotein A which turned out to be 144 not good
I’m aware it’s genetic and diet and exercise will not move the dial.
Statins can also increase the number
I did not have an ApoB test or HS C Reactive protein
My naturop peptide was within normal limits.
Here is my dilemma my cardiologist prescribed Repatha and a low dose statin
I did start the low dose statin but I’m taking 200mg Co Q 1O and Vitamin D and being very mindful of my diet
I leave on Friday for Europe for 8 weeks, I will be in very rural areas, I am slow to start the Repatha in case I have issues
severe muscle issues and high blood pressure to name but a few, deterioration of the myelin sheath
( I used to be a researcher I don’t go into anything blind ) information is power.
I’m also aware of the new drugs in Phase 3 clinical trials that can reduce LPA number by 80-90 percent.
I wonder should I have an ApB test before I leave.
These are my go go years. I want to live and enjoy my retirement.
I know I was silly drinking too many lattes and eating too many croissants.
I know that LPA number is there since I was 5 and I have informed my family.
I just don’t want to run into trouble on a long international flight or somewhere up a mountain.
I would prefer to start the Repatha when I’m back in Ny where if something happens I’m close by.
I also don’t want to cancel my trip
Not sure what to do
Would love to hear your informed opinions on this.

Hello I was recently prescribed Repatha for elevated LPa
Seemingly I have had this number since I was 5, diet and exercise don’t move the dial
However Repatha can have a 20-30 percent reduction, but statins can increase numbers.
My dilemma is I’m really sensitive to meds, I leave for 8 weeks on Thursday and could only fill one refill as insurance would not cover additional refills.
I’m afraid I could have serious side effects like increase BP, bad muscle cramps etc and be in a rural area.
I don’t want to start it until I’m back in the US
My HDl is 80 Trigycerdes 77
LDL 144
I know that there are new drugs in phase three that reduce Lpa number by 90 percent
I will continue a low dose statin and eat well.
They did not take a Apo A in the panel
I’m interested to know the particle size
Im really afraid of side effects as I’m very sensitive.
I’m in sinus rhythm, some of the side effects are increased Blood pressure and decrease heart rate

twilight sedation.
My GI says there is no issue with
AFib, if anything I will be more relaxed.

My friends daughter just got accepted into a really good Dental Program.
Fees are prohibitively expensive for a low income family.
Because of recent changes graduate loans tap out at 50,000 which comes into effect 7/1
Obviously she will need to take out private loans
Can someone recommend a good resource my friend can use to navigate this process
She can’t get an appointment with financial aid until after the semester starts, and as far as I am aware she can’t apply for scholarships until she has started
Needless to say she is very stressed about this
