I loved this book!

I initially finished the Mistborn series and was recommended the order for the rest of the Cosmere. So I read through Secret History, Emperor's Soul and now Warbreaker. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Lightsong was my favorite charachter. From his humor to his character development. The moment he gave the God King his breath I choked up and tears rolled down my cheeks. Lightsong was truly the god king! And Blushweaver his queen. RIP to you both.

Siri's story was also good, though it gripped me the least. I enjoyed seeing the blooming relationship between her and the God King though.

Vivenna initially didn't interest me. It felt like a B plot at first. Until.... Rust and Ruin! That scene where she discovers the animals gave me shivers and made my blood run cold. When Denth and the mercenaries were revealed as the bad guys... wow... I was expecting it to go deeper than what was on the surface, but that dark scene shocked me. Loved the masterful story telling.

Vasher was clearly not a bad guy from the prologue. So it didn't surprise me when Vivenna joined him. Though I already figured he was a Returned about halfway through the book, I was shocked that he played so many roles in history. From being one of the 5 scholars, to being the main figure of the Manywar. His battle against Denth at the end was spectacularly done. I wasn't expecting Clod to be Arsteel and Denth to have the royal locks.

Nightblood, you beautiful sword you. I would read an entire book from his perspective. He had me dying with laughter!

As my last book before the Stormlight Archive, I have to say... Sanderson you brilliant man, if you ever see this: Thank you for another great adventure!

The Emperor's Soul and Secret History Questions (Spoilers)

So, recently I finished the Mistborn Era 1 and Era 2 books. Following this, I asked this community for advice on where in the Cosmere I should go next.

Firstly, thanks to EVERYONE who shared their insight and guidance. It meant a lot that strangers were willing to assist with such a silly question.

Since my question, I have read:

- The Eleventh Metal

Short little read and though it did not add much, it was at least a cool little addition to the story of Kelsier getting the Malatium.

- Secret History

I actually loved this. It was such a fun insight into Kelsier and his journey. It somehow made me feel better about his death. I felt a bit like Preservation when I first read about his death in Final Empire, "You just let him kill you??" But this novella served to give me peace with it and got me excited for his journey going forward.

- The Emperor's Soul (in progress)

Im only a little bit into this one. Enjoying the vibes so far.

But these have left me with some questions I was hoping some of you could answer (or tell me to keep reading to find out):

  1. Is there some info Im missing that explains how Kelsier goes from the cognitive realm to the physical realm with a spike through one eye?

  2. Was it actually Kelsier that made the Bands of Mourning?

  3. Who was the "Drifter" in the well with Kelsier?

  4. When reading Era 1, I remember Vin deciding not to follow a beggar in Fadrex. Was this the "Drifter"?

  5. Who are the Ire? They were also mentioned in "The Selish System" in Arcanum Unbound just before the Emperor's Soul.

  6. Is The Emperor's Soul in the Selish System?

  7. Is there a book that talks about Soul Stamps before The Emperor's Soul? I'm only a little into the book and worried I'm missing info as I'm unclear at this point how the magic system works exactly. Is it a RAFO in The Emperor's Soul or was there another book I should have read first?

  8. Are these Soul Stamps what Moonlight used in The Lost Metal? It seems like it.

Sorry for all the spam in questions lol. And thank you to anyone willing to assist!

I've Finished Era 2... Where to next?

So, Ive never read a Sanderson novel until I was recommended mistborn by a friend earlier this year. I have fallen in love with the universe and world of Scadriel. I read through the Final Empire, Well of Ascension and Hero of Ages. Following this, I was craving more and amazed to discover that there was an Era 2! Today I have stayed up until 1am to finish the final book of the quartet. Wow... what an ending. RIP to the masterful Wayne...

But, as I'm sure that all of you who have also read The Lost Metal have realized that this universe is wider than it initially seemed. I have tried to avoid doing direct research into the Sanderson Cosmere to avoid unintentional spoilers. But I have to know, which books in the Cosmere do I read next? Tress of the Emerald Isle? Stormlight Archives? Is there a Mistborn Era 3 on the horizon to get excited for?

Also, a question regarding Kelsier. Did I miss something? Was there a part of a book or a book entirely that I missed? Last I remember is that Tensoon had his bones in Hero of Ages. How is he alive? (No spoilers please. You can just tell me which book/s to read if it is answered somewhere in another book). Also, I remember during the book that they say he held Preservations power like the Lord Ruler and Vin. When did that happen?

Thanks so much for any willing input. Im greatful to be a part of this amazing book community!

PHY2604 Practical Dates

Hi all.

Im wondering if anyone could advise or assist. I'm currently enrolled in the PHY2604 Practical II module. This involves going on site in Joburg to do a physical Practical.

I have been trying to get a hold of the lecturer but my dozen or so emails over the last 2 months have received nothing but static as a reply.

Im mainly trying to ask two questions:

  1. Is there any way I could perform the practicals without going to Joburg? Such as at another university that is closer.

  2. Can I get dates for the practicals? The module guidelines only provide a general timeframe and not specific weeks (like my other Practical module had).

With Rising travel costs, having to take leave and accommodation and transportation, this has been a frustration as I would have liked to have planned and budgeted ahead of time.

If anyone can advise or assist, please let me know.
