Your honest Shadows thoughts
Shadows is on sale and I've been desperate for another decent AC since Origins. Mirage was alright, Valley of Memory was 10/10. But I've practically completed it.
I don't care about the history side of AC anymore. I don't care if Yasuke wasn't really a Samurai or if it's historically accurate. I'm even willing to put aside the fact that, once again, you don't actually play as an Assassin.
What I'm asking is for the gameplay side of things. How does it hold up for an AC? Stealth? Combat? Parkour? Blackbox missions? I'd see for myself but Ubisoft purposely makes long gripping 2-hour starts to their games so you can't refund the game by the time you realize you're not that into it or it's a slog or something. And videos don't help, it's different when you experience for yourself the gameplay of any game.
I'm terrified of heights, so here's me climbing Giotto's Bell Tower in VR
I'm pretty terrified of heights. So I started climbing stuff in VR, I started small and then I went big. This video is from my second ever time of climbing the Tower and anything that tall in general.
I'm pretty sure it helps IRL. A couple of weeks ago I peered over the railing of a 4-story building and didn't feel anything. No dizziness, no urge to look away. No idea how I'd fare with this kind of height though.
And I couldn't resist adding the music. Felt pretty fitting for how I felt conquering my fear at the time. :)
[TOMT][MOVIE] A heist movie that is actually a sequel
I swear I must have imagined this film. I don't remember much about it except for a few details. I watched the movie in theater somewhere between 2020 and 2025. All I remember is that it starts with a guy driving in the early morning alone. There may have been a dramatic score accompanying the scene. I don't recall any "known" actors playing. In fact, this may not even be an American film. But he meets up with a woman whom he knows. I don't know about her, but he has definitely pulled a heist before. Remember, this is a sequel.
I remember there was tension in the crew. But I really can't remember anything else about the movie. Shit hits the fan, people die, I don't even think it's a bank they went after. I remember a bag. I remember the protagonist and the woman being the only ones left, but I could be wrong. I don't even remember if they even got anything out of that job after all. It ends with the protagonist driving away.
Pretty sure this is all in Europe. Maybe France? And I'm pretty sure the original movie came out circa 2011, or otherwise a decade prior. Again, I could be getting some details wrong. But I that's all I can remember.
Edit: The more I think about it, the more certain I am it was not an English-speaking film.
