I (M30) helped my now ex (F23) finish college. During her final semester, I paid for everything (tuition, thesis expenses, grad fee, pictorial fee, allowances) and I also settled all her pending balance in the university.

We were happy. Kahit busy ako, I make time for her, lagi ko siya tinatanong how's her day and kung okay na ba mga requirements nya kasi graduating na. May tendency sya na matagal mag reply like may time na 3 days walang reply. I tried to understand her kasi OJT na nga may thesis pa tapos graduating pa. I've been there and it was hell. So I trusted her.

She told me a specific date of her graduation. It was supposed to be on the day after my birthday.

My plan? To surprise her on her graduation day and celebrate together.

Ilang days nalang and I'm very nervous for some odd reason. I thought na baka busy lang sya to prep for her grad, kaya di kami nakapag usap ng maayos. May nag-sink in sakin.. to check her University's fb page.

LO AND BEHOLD.... the ceremony was already a week ago. An album of photos were uploaded on the page..and there she was on stage, smiling ear to ear, diploma on her hands.... and I wasn't there.

I was here working... clueless about everything.
