Spotted on my back door (Southern England). The closest match I can find is a paper wasp, which I understand are sometimes rare visitors to the UK.

The major differences seem to be the length and colour of the antennae, and possibly the pattern of the markings on the underside of the abdomen.

Apologies for the poor photo quality, I’m actually terrified of wasps so as soon as I spotted it I ran inside - obviously need to do some window cleaning!

Was slow moving, looked like bright glittering lights all moving together in an exact straight line in the direction of the arrows. Too slow to be satellites and the direction was off. Looks blurred in the picture but they were really defined. Never seen anything like it.

Went to get my partner then came back and they were still there but still really faint in the sky.

ETA: fairly certain now that this is from a Starlink launch from either yesterday or the day before. Was fun to investigate and learn a bit more about how to track these things but think I better go back to looking at the ground now and not the sky. Thanks all for your suggestions!
