Moth ID?

Never seen one before, my ref book I use didn't have an exact match.

Looked like a Green Emerald... except its light blue.

What is this red admiral doing?

It looks almost like two of them gripping eachother? What behaviour is this?

Orange Swift Moth and Speckled Wood

If the moth had been on a twig rather than a window frame I'd never have spotted it.

Lovely Dragonfly/Damselfly?

I've been watching a few of these little buggers sitting on top of my bamboo canes for a while now. Great to watch. Can anyone identify them from this pic please?

Mister Mantis’s new home

Hello, thanks to those who shared advice on my post about the praying mantis my girlfriend found on her Brighton balcony yesterday.

I’ve now moved him to my garden so he’s no longer in an urban environment. He seemed pretty happy to be out of the box & started drinking water the second I put him on my tree fern.

Chrysalis identity

My brother lives on a narrow boat, outer London area. This was hanging from the boat. Does anyone know what it might be. It looks like a possible damsel fly cast but not sure. Thanks in advance

Praying Mantis on 25th floor apartment balcony, South Coast. Help!

My girlfriend went out onto her balcony this morning & has found a praying mantis in the drain. I’ve never seen one of these in the UK & it seems even more unusual given that she lives 25 floors up on the South Coast.

Is there anything we can do to help the poor thing?

Where on earth has it come from?

Praying Mantis?? Surrey

Genuinely baffled, never seen one before. He's a fascinating little guy. Whats the chances hes an escaped pet?

It does happen to be one of the hottest days ever, so I was thinking it might be a climate migrant.

Anyways hopefully my new friend will keep the house flies at bay!

Seems we are the last generation to witness fireflies. When last do you see them?

I was thinking about these bugs few days ago and I struggle to remember when last I saw them.

Grey Dagger moth caterpillar 🐛

Found this feeding on the leaves of my cherry tree whilst watering the garden late in the evening. In better light the following morning I refound it, along with 3 others. This one was the biggest, juiciest specimen for a photograph!

Damselfly, Small Tortoiseshell and Red Admiral

I don't know what sort of Damselfly this is; at least the butterflies were easy to identify.

Can anyone identify this critter?

Hi saw this little guy on my lamp, didn’t get a good angle from the top but was wondering if anyone could tell me what this guy is.
