Meet ups

Hey there! So i’m a very extroverted, social, outgoing guy. Are people, locals, tourists normally sociable on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica (Limon Province)? I’m going to be staying in Manzanillo for 6 nights and wouldn’t mind hitting it off with some people at restaurants, bars and around town. Let me know the best ways, maybe apps? To meet people. Thanks guys!

Transportation Between Puerto Viejo,Cahuita,Punta Uva and Manzanillo

I'm planning a trip to Manzanillo this July, I will be staying for 6 nights and plan to take a shared shuttle from SJO to Manzanillo, and would like to visit aforementioned destinations also while I'm there. Is there some sort of transit that I can use to navigate my way in between those destinations or do I need to rent a vehicle. Thanks in advance!

First time in Colombia

Booked a trip to Medellin from July 20th to July 28th. I’m Middle Eastern-Canadian, very tanned, I speak Spanish, Arabic, English, French. What do I need to know about how to stay safe and what are the must do’s? Thanks in advance.

6 nights in Limon province

Landing in San jose on the 28th of august, spend the night there because it will be too late to drive on rican roads, jump in the rental in the morning and make my way to Limon province where I will be spending 6 nights total before coming back to San Jose to catch my return flight. Where should I go? Manzanillo? Cahuita? Puerto Viejo? Thanks for the recs in advance. I love hiking, snorkeling and wildlife.

Root cause found and addressed

Leaky gut was the cause. Found out through my Functional medicine doc who ruled out Mold and Heavy metals. Started me on a diet of highly digestible foods such as meat stock, well cooked and pressure cooked vegetables, extra whole food vitamin C, creatine and Spore based probiotics. Haven’t had a flare since starting this way of eating and bloating completely disappeared, bowel movements are immaculate and well formed. Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Acerola fruit powder.

I have been taking 100% Acerola fruit powder as I natural Vitamin C supplement to support myself as I treat the root cause and I’ve been feeling exponentially better. Thought people here would like to know. Available on Iherb and Amazon.

Wake up call

So i’ve been wanting to get this off my chest for a while. I work in an industry that requires me to travel quite a few times during the year all around job sites across the country. In the beginning of summer 2025 all throughout Spring 2026, I was working at a particular job that had me stepping quite a lot during the day, I would say probably 7-10k steps a day, which was awesome! I felt great, energy through the roof, sleep was fantastic and I was in amazing shape. Then came March and I was transferred to another job where I barely was getting any steps in. I immediately started to notice those “superpowers” fading away. My sleep wasn’t as good, my appetite wasn’t as good as it was, i was getting frustrated easily, I started getting depressed and all along just asking myself what the problem was, and then it dawned on me.. The steps!! I was barely getting 1000 in a day if I was lucky. So I decided to go back to stepping. Tonight I went for 12k steps and I feel incredible! Thanks for listening fam!

I’ll be landing and Rio and then go from there, i’m planning on spending the first week or two in Rio.

I would like some recommendations of any other cities that I should also visit such as Salvador, Recife, Florianópolis and also of any português classes that any of you may have been to. Thank you all so much. Looking forward to reading your recommendations.
