Cutting a pork shoulder to reduce overall cooking time.

Hi folks. Question about a pork shoulder.

I have a 8.8lb (4kg) cut that I’d like to smoke for pulled pork. Best guess is 12hrs+.

In your experience, if I cut it into approx equal halves, and smoked them both in the same chamber, would it significantly cut back the cooking time?

Thanks in advance.

Is this a special type of metal rod?

Hi everyone. I’ve seen this video pop up in my feed a few times, and I’m honestly quite impressed. Is this a special type of rod? Are there better materials to try this with than others?

For those who don’t watch the video, it’s of a guy who repeatedly hits a rod of metal with a hammer. The rod heats up to the point that he’s able to start a small fire.

Redish leaves on blue berry bush, but not the others.

Hi everyone. I planted this blueberry bush around the same time as the others, but this one has its leaves going reddish brown. I’ve read this can be because the soil isn’t acidic enough… and yet the plants right beside it, are fine.

Any helpful hints?

Appreciate it.

Recommendations for a Deba, near 150mm, from a reputable site.

Hi everyone. I’m in the market for a Japanese single bevel Deba, but also don’t want to break the bank. I know sky is the limit, but I also am not a professional chef, of fish processor.

Any recommendations?

Hi. I just jumped into this without any research. I noticed that the seeds I bought have a shiny green/blue cover. Does this naturally melt off or do I need to peel back the cover so they’ll germinate.

Thanks.
