GCW Homecoming 2026 Weekend Results – New World & Tag Champs, Drake Younger Returns + More

GCW Homecoming 2026 – Full Weekend Results

GCW Homecoming 2026 took place August 15–16 at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The weekend featured two championship changes, the return of Joseph Sawyer to a GCW ring, the surprise return of Drake Younger, and plenty of deathmatch insanity.

Night 1 – Saturday, August 15

  • GCW Tag Team Championship: KJ Orso & Sam Stackhouse def. Bustah & The Brain (Alec Price & Jordan Oliver) (c) — NEW CHAMPIONS
  • 8-Man Tag: Bobby Flaco, Hunter Drake & Top Team (Jay Lucas & Terry Yaki) def. Leedz Lewis, Ryan O'Neill, Sal Mistretta & Tarzan Duran
  • Til Death Do Us Part Match: Bear Bronson & Gabby Forza def. Charles Mason & SLADE
  • Career vs. Match: Joey Janela def. Marko Stunt — Janela would have been forced to retire had he lost
  • Chola Chain Match: Vipress def. Christian Napier
  • Six-Man Tag: Nick Gage, Sicko The Clown & Niño Extremo def. Dr. Redacted, Conor Claxton & Jimmy Lloyd
  • GCW Ultraviolent Championship – BFT Deathmatch: Otis Cogar (c) def. Anakin Murphy to retain
  • GCW World Championship: Joseph Sawyer def. Atticus Cogar (c) — NEW CHAMPION

Sawyer's victory ended Atticus Cogar's 267-day reign in Sawyer's first GCW match in nearly six years. The finish also featured the surprise involvement of Drake Younger, who prevented Max Recon from interfering on Atticus' behalf.

Night 2 – Sunday, August 16

  • GCW Ultraviolent Championship Deathmatch: Otis Cogar (c) def. Drake Younger to retain
  • Scramble: Sal Mistretta def. Bobby Flaco, Juni Underwood, Ryan Mooney, Grayson Pierce, Tyler Stevens, Jimmy Darryn, Hunter Drake & Jermaine Marbury (w/ Benny The Basketball)
  • Four-Way Tag: Joey Janela & Ryan O'Neill def. Top Team (Terry Yaki & Jay Lucas), Controlled Kaos (Kid Chaos & Papa Juice), and Marcus Mathers & Leedz Lewis
  • Singles Match: Corinne Joy def. Jimmy Lloyd
  • Deathmatch: Dr. Redacted def. Beastman
  • Circus Deathmatch: Sicko The Clown def. Niño Extremo

Where GCW stands after Homecoming

GCW World Champion: Joseph Sawyer
GCW Tag Team Champions: KJ Orso & Sam Stackhouse
GCW Ultraviolent Champion: Otis Cogar

In the span of one weekend, Sawyer ended Atticus' 267-day reign, KJ & Sam finally captured the tag belts, Drake Younger returned, Otis survived both Anakin Murphy and Drake, and Vipress positioned herself as the next major threat to the Ultraviolent Championship.

Coming into Homecoming, it looked like VNDL48 could leave Atlantic City stronger than ever. Instead, the changing of the guard happened remarkably fast.

What was everyone's match of the weekend?
Biggest surprise?
And after everything that happened, are you more or less excited about where GCW is headed next?

Who Ya Got? GCW Homecoming 2026 Predictions & Discussion

Hard to believe it’s already been a year since the last Homecoming, when Cardona and Shotzi damn near had GCW trending #1 on X with their opening match. I don’t think the hype around this year’s Homecoming is nearly as big as last year, but there’s still plenty to be excited about.

I’ve seen a lot of predictions that we’re going to see titles change hands this weekend, and personally, I don’t see it. Homecoming usually feels like a place where stories come to an end, but I think this year, at least in the main-event picture, this is where the story begins.

Atticus dropped a great promo this week talking about his real family versus Sawyer’s fake family, and that feels important. Atticus has been awesome as GCW Champion, with Otis right there keeping pace with him. Even Napier looked great in his recent return from injury. I see Atticus retaining while giving Sawyer a proper return to the indies and immediately making him feel important again.

Anakin is tough as nails, but I don’t see him winning the UV title before Vipress gets her shot.

Vipress vs. Christian Napier in the Chola Chain Match should be a bloody good time. I could see Vipress getting the win and some revenge for the recent attacks from VNDL48. But she’s also been one of the mystery attacker’s targets, so this feels like another perfect opportunity for that person to finally reveal themselves. Could we be looking at another Vandal making their debut?

Personally, I think VNDL48 leaves Homecoming stronger than ever.

If any title changes hands Saturday, I could see KJ Orso & Sam Stackhouse finally beating Bustah & The Brain for the tag titles. It feels like only a matter of time before the champs drop the belts as their AEW careers become a bigger focus, and Homecoming could be the perfect place to pull the trigger.

Bear Bronson & Gabby Forza vs. Charles Mason & SLADE should be an absolute banger. With Bear and Gabby trying to get their wedding rings back from Mason, there are some personal stakes behind all the violence. The “Til Death Do Us Part” stipulation is perfect for these four, and I expect this to be less of a wrestling match and more of a brawl all over the Showboat.

Janela vs. Marko Stunt is a must-watch too. Joey has promised that if he loses, he’ll retire from wrestling and get a job as an agent or producer. If he wins, he’s promising the greatest comeback wrestling has ever seen. I’m definitely not betting on Joey filling out job applications Monday morning, so give me Janela here.

Night 2 sounds like it’ll feature even more fuckery courtesy of Sicko and Niño Extremo. I believe there will be two rings—one traditional and another surrounded by barbed wire—which sounds completely on brand for them. Beastman vs. Dr. Redacted should be a fun one too.

That’s where I’m at going into Homecoming, but this weekend feels unpredictable enough that I could be completely wrong.

Is Homecoming the beginning of the end for VNDL48 or are we about to watch them level up again? Do any of the belts actually change hands? Who leaves the weekend looking like GCW’s next breakout star? And who the hell has been behind these mystery attacks?

What’s everyone else got?

Can anyone identify this 4" pewter wizard figure? D&D or something else?

I picked up this pewter figurine today and I'm trying to figure out what it's from.

  • About 4 inches tall
  • Solid pewter
  • No maker's marks or identifying stamps anywhere
  • Depicts a bearded wizard with a pointed hat and robe (stars/moons on hat)
  • Google Lens has been no help

I'm wondering if it belongs to the world of Dungeons & Dragons, or if it's from another fantasy line, game, or collectible series.

I've searched around but haven't found an exact match. Any ideas on the manufacturer, age, or character would be greatly appreciated!

$13.43 for a 16 oz Coors Light at the Zoo Amp?

I went to the Black Keys show at the Zoo Amphitheatre last night and was surprised by the beer prices. It was my first show at the venue since the new ownership took over in 2024.

A 16 oz Coors Light was:

  • $11.00 before tax
  • $13.43 after sales tax and alcohol tax

Just 3 beers would come out to just over $40 which is about what I paid for my lawn ticket directly from the venue.

For comparison, I paid $14 for a 24 oz tall boy at Red Rocks just last year. I expect premium prices at a destination venue like Red Rocks, but I didn't expect the Zoo Amp to be in the same ballpark.

Curious what everyone else thinks:

  • Is this just the new normal for concert venues in Oklahoma?
  • Has anyone else been caught off guard by the concession prices at the Zoo Amp?
  • Are there any other venues around OKC charging similar prices?

I attached my receipt because I figured people would think I was exaggerating otherwise. 😂
