I took a little roadtrip to the site of the FIFA games in Arlington Texas, and drove to some other scenic areas. About 60 or so miles later, I was still close to 80%. I drove in GT mode for at least 40% of the drive and performed a few jackrabbit starts. ICCU issues aside (haven't seen anything yet) the vehicle runs like a champ.

Drove to the nearest amusement park (wondered if my ride was more exhilarating).

I even managed a couple of quick acceleration runs. Little acceleration test EV6 GT.

I've had my IC go out on me more than a few times while driving my Kona. I'm hoping that it's part of the recall. It's kind of unnerving when it happens, especially when on the highway traveling at a high rate of speed.

I figure $27 for 26 pieces isn't bad, especially if you're looking for your next fragrance. Oh and mods, feel free to delete, I just want to help my fellow fraghead save some coin.

I sorta did a thing. Found a great deal on an EV6 GT and all it took was 1 test drive to pull me in. The good news is that I haven't given up on my Kona EV Limited. The current plan is to use one vehicle for driving into work, and the other one on occasion. The beauty of it is that while I'm in one car, the other car can sit and charge. The GT charges so quick at a supercharger though, that it feels a shame to charge it at home. Oh and the video above looks great on YouTube Mobile (feel free to move around your phone, just don't fall).

I understand the angst and frustration. Went to one of the charging sites near me just to see if my new EV6 could charge at the 240 kW advertised speeds claimed. The charging site I went to has ONE 350 kW capable charger and 2 100 kW stations. When I get there, I see one vehicle (a Kia Niro) sitting at the 350 station. Curious, I checked online and the fastest that the car can charge is 85 kW. Thus, I had to settle for charging at one of the slower charging stations and couldn't test the claimed 18 minutes to 80% charge.

As someone that used to own a slower charging EV, I used to just grab whatever station was available, but now I get it. I wish these charging apps would find a way to match your vehicle's limitations with whatever station would best suit it, maybe even offer a few dollars off for charging at one of these stations. If the vehicle can benefit from the faster speeds, then sure that's fine, but why park at a faster charging station if you're not even using 1/2 the capabilities of the charger? Oh well, now I get it. /soapbox

Bought an Insta360 and shot some great 360 videos, but sadly YouTube don't like how much data it contained and since my computer is a dinosaur, I couldn't edit, thus I switched to "me" mode which gave me some decent video. Performed a spirited takeoff from the light and another EV started pacing me. I suspect they wanted to see if their Equinox EV was up to task. I left him in my wake. This thing is highly addictive, but fortunately the battery puts you in check.

As the title says, I'm really considering getting rid of my Kona EV Limited. There's nothing really wrong with the vehicle, it's about as worry free as one might expect an electric vehicle to be that's only used for work and as a grocery getter. The thing is that I kind of like the idea of something with a little more pep. Currently considering a Blazer EV SS, a Cadillac Lyriq-V, an Ioniq 5 Limited, or an Ioniq 5 N. The biggest drawback of the N would be a loss of about 50 miles in range per charge, but the upside is a car that can humble most ICE vehicles on the road.

The Kona, however, it's just such a money saver when it comes down to it. The drawback is that I bought the car in 2024 when interest rates weren't the best, and the best rate I could get was 6%. With the Ioniq 5 Limited, I could literally trade in my Kona and pay practically the same per month with the great finance rate that's available. That itself is probably the biggest reason I'm considering going to the Ioniq 5 Limited. I also can refinance the car, but I figure if I'm going that route, I might as well just buy something nicer. What say ye?

I have a question about this BS lawsuit. If Trump is going after the IRS leak that happened while he was President, and the SC has ruled that he has immunity, can't the case get thrown out as Trump the "citizen" can't sue Trump the "President" as "Trump the President" has immunity, yes?

What's your preferred tire pressure and what kind of range are you seeing based on the type of driving, driving mode, and climate you drive?

My 2024 Limited, I get around 270 (on trip computer) with about 38 PSI, always in sport mode and mostly 0 regen. I do about 70% highway driving and am kind of bad about jackrabbit starts. I keep telling myself that I'll air things up closer to 40 PSI (the 38nis after the tires are warm, not cold) but I've found that even at 38, the car can get a little "air" when driving the speed limit in my area (the heat had made some stretches of highway wavy and full of dips). The temps with the above figures are generally in the low to mid 90s. I run the AC and ventilated seats constantly.

Curious to hear anyone running over 40 PSI, does the ride not feel too easily high sprung? Is the eMPG much better at a higher PSI?
