Looking for People for Music Bingo Group

Hi! My girlfriend (26f) and I (29f) are wanting to get a group together to play music bingo at The Peanut on Santa Fe in Overland Park on Tuesdays at 7:30. It’s free to play, and a lot of fun! We just don’t have any friends to play with anymore.

Let me know if you’re interested! Ideally we could have a group of 6-8, but we’ll take literally anybody.

We are queer and sober if that matters, but you’re totally welcome to drink in front of us.

Anyone else with chronic migraines?

I just got diagnose with a syrinx in on my C7 and T1. I’ve also been in a battle trying to figure out what is causing my chronic daily migraines and I was wondering if this could be the cause, even though the migraines are in my forehead area? I’ve never had any pain in the back of my head. The pain is in the front of my head, all days, every day. I have no other symptoms of the syrinx. It was only on a whim that the doctor ordered the MRI of my neck.

How do you handle your brain being all over the place?

I just feel like my thoughts are constantly spinning, like a hamster on a ball. My ADHD and hypomania are just tag teaming off each other, and I can’t make my brain quiet. But at the same time, I like my loud brain, and whenever it gets quiet, I get depressed. I’m really productive right now, and about to take on a big long term project in my personal life, which I will probably come to regret when the depression hits, but it’s a great distraction from my mental health and medical issues. But my thoughts keep waking me up in the middle of the night and racing so bad that I can’t fall back asleep, and it’s worrying my girlfriend. I’m on sleep meds and I don’t know what else to do. I see my psych tomorrow so I guess I’ll mention it.

Does anyone have any tips for making your brain less chaotic?

Oxcarbazipine (trileptal) vs lamotrigine(lamictal)

I have been taking oxcarbazipine for my depressive episodes since I was put on it at the hospital 4 years ago and it has worked wonders. I’m on 600 mg and haven’t had a depressive episode in god knows how long.

But I also have chronic daily migraines and am not responsive to any migraine medication, and my neurologist is at the point of wanting to swap my bipolar meds for some that might help the migraines. I’m not doing so hot on the first swap (risperidone to abilfy, super nauseous and can’t eat) so I don’t know if my psych will want to increase the dose like she had planned.

The next plan was to swap oxcarbazipine for lamictal. I was wondering if there is anyone who has been on both and could compare them?? I only hear people talk about lamictal on here. I’m hesitant to make another switch. Withdrawing from a med that worked perfectly well is miserable, and I don’t want to do it again, but daily migraines are also miserable, so I really can’t win.

Has anyone tried oxcarbazipine and lamictal? Which one worked better?
