We are candidates participating in JAC Delhi 2026 Counselling. We would like to respectfully bring to your attention the unexpectedly high cutoffs for the EWS Home State category across almost all participating colleges and branches.

Upon comparing this year's cutoffs with previous years, it appears that while the cutoffs for many other categories have remained similar to or are even more relaxed than last year, the EWS Home State category has witnessed a significant and unexpected increase across nearly all branches and institutes. This trend seems unusual and has caused concern among many candidates.

We understand that the seat allocation process is fully digitalized and conducted through an automated system. We are not questioning the fairness or transparency of the counselling process. However, considering the unusual cutoff pattern for the EWS Home State category, we humbly request you to kindly verify the seat allocation system and cutoff generation process once from your end, simply to ensure that there has been no unintended technical or data-related issue.

If everything is found to be correct after verification, we will completely respect and accept the outcome. Our request is only for a one-time verification because the cutoff trends for the EWS Home State category are significantly different from expectations and previous years.

Subject: Request for Immediate Audit and Clarification Regarding Unprecedented EWS Cutoff Trends in JAC Delhi 2026 Round 2

Respected Sir/Madam,

We are writing on behalf of a large number of JAC Delhi 2026 candidates who have carefully analysed the officially published Round 1 and Round 2 opening and closing ranks. After comparing the published data with previous years' counselling trends, we have observed several highly unusual patterns in the Delhi Region EWS category that merit immediate verification and clarification.

This representation is not intended to make allegations. Rather, we respectfully request an official review because the published allotment data appears significantly different from historical counselling trends, and several candidates have also reported allotments that appear inconsistent with the officially published cutoffs.

Key Observations

After analysing the official Round 1 and Round 2 cutoffs, we observed the following:

• General category cutoffs have shown substantially greater relaxation between Round 1 and Round 2 compared to the EWS category.
• In contrast, the EWS category has remained almost completely stagnant across DTU and NSUT.
• Approximately 8 DTU branches and 7–8 NSUT branches recorded absolutely no movement between Round 1 and Round 2.

Examples include:

• DTU Civil Engineering – 90,594 → 90,594 (No Movement)
• DTU Biotechnology – 95,505 → 95,505 (No Movement)
• DTU Mechanical Engineering with Specialisation in Automotive Engineering – No Movement
• DTU Production & Industrial Engineering – No Movement
• DTU Software Engineering – No Movement
• Multiple NSUT EWS branches also exhibited zero movement between Round 1 and Round 2.

Highly Unusual Observation

The most concerning observation is the behaviour of DTU Environmental Engineering (ENE).

Instead of the closing rank relaxing in Round 2—as has historically been observed across counselling rounds—the published cutoff became more restrictive, decreasing from approximately 95,000 in Round 1 to approximately 91,000 in Round 2.

This means that instead of allowing candidates with higher rank numbers to obtain admission in a later round, the branch effectively became accessible only to candidates with better ranks, which is contrary to the movement generally expected after Round 1.

Historically, Round 2 is expected to witness relaxation due to:

• IIT admissions being finalized,
• JoSAA upgrades,
• NIT withdrawals,
• BITS counselling,
• Internal branch upgrades, and
• Candidates exiting the counselling process.

The fact that a lower-demand branch such as Environmental Engineering became more competitive instead of less competitive is an unusual trend that deserves official clarification.

Additionally,

• Except for the Environmental Engineering anomaly, no EWS branch moved by more than approximately 1,000 ranks, while several branches did not move at all.

Candidate-specific Concern

Apart from the overall cutoff trends, multiple candidates have also reported cases that appear inconsistent with the published cutoff data.

One such representation is as follows:

• Candidate Category: Delhi Region General-EWS
• Rank: 92,498
• IGDTUW CSAI was placed above CSE in the preference order.
• Official Round 2 Closing Rank for IGDTUW CSAI (General-EWS): approximately 98,573.
• Despite having a better rank than the published closing rank, the candidate reports not being allotted CSAI.

While this individual case may have a valid explanation, it further reinforces the need for transparency and verification of the allotment process.

Our Request

We respectfully request JAC Delhi to:

1. Conduct an audit of the Round 2 seat allotment process for the Delhi Region EWS category.
2. Verify that the published reservation policy and seat matrix have been implemented correctly.
3. Confirm that no technical, software, or database-related issue affected the Round 2 allotment.
4. Clarify the reasons behind the unprecedented stagnation in EWS cutoff movement and the unusual tightening observed in Environmental Engineering.
5. Verify candidate-specific representations where the published cutoff appears inconsistent with the allotment received.
6. If any discrepancy is identified, kindly issue an official clarification and take appropriate corrective action before subsequent counselling rounds.

We have complete faith in the integrity of the JAC Delhi counselling process and sincerely appreciate the efforts involved in conducting admissions for thousands of students. However, given the unprecedented trends observed in the published Round 2 data, we believe an official verification and clarification is essential to maintain transparency and confidence among candidates.

I have my provisional admission letter but the branch is not finalized yet it will upgrade in upcoming rounds...

We got our EWS certificate online, but in that document list it is written to bring original and photocopy.. so how will I bring my original EWS certificate?? Should I carry 2 photocopies??
