Next.js App Router auth in Root Layout forces entire app dynamic. How are you handling it?

I’m building a directory app with App Router and ran into the usual auth/header problem.

My Header in the Root Layout needs to show either the user avatar or a Sign In button. Since it reads cookies/session (await auth()), Next marks the whole app as dynamic — even public pages like about/privacy/terms

I tried a few approaches:

PPR / cacheComponents: true

Worked at first with Suspense, but then private pages started throwing build errors about uncached data. Felt like I was restructuring the whole app just to make one header work. Also CacheComponents is experimental and globally enabled.

Client-side session fetch (useEffect)

Got my static pages back, but now i have to make a route handler (because i have one more data to be fetched like some counts from database). If it was only session i could use nextauth client side hook.

Just using SSR

Honestly this feels the cleanest. No flicker, no weird compiler fights, just dynamic rendering everywhere.

So what are most people actually doing in production?

Accepting SSR? Living with the flicker? Or is there a cleaner pattern I’m missing?

Visually see this:

I have root layout and pages as children for this layout.

In this layout i have header component with a user profile badge which need session data.

Because all pages render in the same layout. Some static like pages too render as Dynamic/ssr instead of Static page at build time

What fix can i do? I dont have data fetching libs like react query or SWR. I don't want to install it for this one component. PPR Is now global. So i will have to wrap all dynamic page in suspense.

What should i do for future changes?

I am new to this, i without knowing i used db push in production database without migration. I have changed schema slight.

What should i do for future schema changes? Can i do migration without resetting data?

My phone phone 3a. The problem is when i try to delete a filter/LUT from camera app. Like when i try to delete 2nd item it deletes 1st item. When there is no previous item (like 1st item) nothing gets deleted. I lost my custom lut i made using lightroom mobile and lut generator because of this.

When i reported this bug the support women said my phone is defective and should be send for repairing. While this is just a software issue from nothing camera app. I guess.

I mean like how did she even get that job🤔😐

Can someone suggest me some youtube playlist for learning dsa patterns.

& Like for beginners. I need English speaking videos. Most of the ones i see are hindi mixed ones. If the videos clearly and slowly explains everything it is best
