Something that is sensual and moody. Erotic and tender, something that speaks its own language. Sophisticated and layered.

My main interests are teaching and becoming a lawyer. The downside for teaching is pay, and for law, I’m worried about having nothing to fall back on if I decide I don’t want to go through with it, as you can get your bachelor’s degree in anything. Also the debt and burn out.
I’m thinking about majoring in English and minoring in education or maybe business? I’m not totally set.
The more people I ask for advice on this, the more I get told I’m setting myself up for failure. It’s frustrating to hear, but I know where they’re coming from.
They also tell me since I have the brain for stem, I should go through with that. That I should just suck it up and take the hard classes, or I’ll just be struggling after graduation. It’s just frustrating. I was planning to go into health, took some classes and I did well, but I disliked taking them and they didn’t feel like me. So, now I feel totally lost.
I’ve ruled out almost everything except the humanities, and everybody keeps telling me I’m screwing myself over. And I know where they’re coming from, and that’s what scares me. They also tell me things like im “wasting my potential” if I went through with this, which is so shitty.
I’m not saying I want to be filthy rich, but I do want to be able to support myself and live comfortably. Maybe I’m asking for too much. Idk lol.
I want to know what are jobs you guys have gotten with your English degrees, and if you regret majoring in English. Please do not be scared to give me a wake up call.
I’m currently in college and im unsure what to study. I have good grades and am thinking about being a lawyer or a teacher (not set on those, just entertaining the idea of them as ik teaching doesn’t pay well).
My goal is to be a novelist/writer, but I know that’s not something you do right out of college n I want to make good money.
I’m a very creative person (I write, sing, dance), n I would love to find something that allows me to use my creativity. I just love to bring ideas to life. I’m good at public speaking, leading, and persuasion.
I know a corporate/tech job would eat my soul (it’s why I’m hesitant about law), so I was wondering, what are all the creative girls doing?
EDIT: I’m not trying to turn my passion into my job. Eventually I would love to be a full time writer, but I need something to sustain me now. Maybe I should’ve specified this!! I’m trying to find a job that isn’t too tiring/draining and gives me time to work on my creative stuff that pays well. I’m not looking for creative jobs, I meant to ask what jobs are creative girls going?
I’m looking for insight on what to major in and what jobs I can get. My strengths are writing, public speaking, debating, persuasion, and leadership skills. Pls don’t say anything about law lol I’ve thought about it but I think it would burn me out.
My goal is to become an author, but I’m trying to figure out a job I can do in the meanwhile that doesn’t drain me, I enjoy and pays well.
I’m thinking about teaching but I’m not totally sure. Business and marketing are not really my thing, so I feel stuck. Pls help
I’m thinking of getting my bachelors in English with a minor in business/marketing or something like that. Or maybe English with a minor in education. Not totally set yet.
Writing and English have always been my passions, and my goal is to be an author. I’m trying to find a job or career path that pays me well n gives me time to write in my free time.
I may be looking for some magical job that doesn’t exist, but I’m wondering what are jobs you can get with a background in English that don’t necessarily have to be centered around English that pay well that aren’t law school or teaching/teaching adjacent?
I’m looking into teaching but I’m not totally sure, it’s honestly the pay that deters me. Ik getting your masters helps but I’m not sure.
For context, im graduating hs this spring with my associates in gen Ed. (Bc of the program I did)
I’m currently in community college, wrapping up my last two semesters. I Iove writing and my goal is to be an author, but I'm aware that for the meantime I needed a job to sustain me. Ive always had a knack for science and thought "well I'm good at it and it'll make money", so I decided on nursing. I've take almost all the prereqs for it and did well but I was absolutely miserable taking the classes and decided that's probably not a sign to go further into it.
Ive been thinking about becoming an secondary English teacher or even a professor (though I know the job market for that is not great). I love teaching and I know it's more so about helping and watching the students grow versus English and writing, but I don't mind and still love the idea. My main issue is the salary. I'm not saying I want to be a millionaire, but money does matter to me and I like nicer things and I want to be able to fully support myself.
I also don't mind making career pivots, I don't see myself doing any job forever as I don't like to sit still lol. I’m just afraid education would put me in a box. I also have been looking into law school, I’m not totally sure about that but I could see myself enjoying it, my only issue is I want a job that doesn’t take too much from me so I can still have energy for my creative endeavors. I know teaching is a very hard job but I could use the summers for my writing. Is education the way to go for someone like me?

I feel like if you teach kids you have to be careful about the stuff u do outside of the classroom, n i tend to write abt some crazy shit so idk lol

I’ve been thinking of going to therapy, but what’s been ultimately stopping me is if I talk about some of the things that I’ve been through with my parents, would they get reported? Im from Michigan and I’m 18, I still live with my parents and I’m worried if I talk about something they did, higher authorities would get involved. The situation isn’t on going, it happened a few times and hasn’t happened since. I have two younger siblings who live with as well who are not affected by them. The last thing I need is for all of this stuff to blow up, but I don’t think I can wait until I move out to start going to therapy.
