Renewal advice

Looking for some advice on a renewal at the end of August.

My fixed rate mortgage of 2.17% will end and I’ve been offered a tracker renewal with existing prouder (HSBC) for 4.17% with a £999 fee.

My current LTV is 62% on my property and looking to sell in the next 18 months, hence the reason for a tracker rather than fixed.

Keen for thoughts on whether there is better rates out there I should be searching for? The simplicity of existing provider and the rates being somewhat okay given current market seems okay to me.

Would welcome perspectives of others who are shooing around currently or have recently found good deals.

Thanks.

Sunday Football team hiring players

Hi All,

I run 2 Sunday league teams based in South Manchester and looking for players to join in season 26/27

We are on the lookout for players to come join training throughout summer, starting July 12th. This is a competitive league with a good standard of players and really good lads.

We train on a Tuesday 7-8:30 at Hough End in summer and then play Sunday mornings at the same venue.

Players of all positions are welcome and if you are interested in joining and would like to know more. Feel free to drop a message.

Pilates insurance - UK

Hi All, I’m currently training to be a Pilates instructor in the UK. I require a certain number of hours teaching to qualify which means I need to get insurance.

I’ve contacted Hiscox and insure4sport but they don’t insure you if you don’t have a qualification.

Has anyone been through this and could advise? The companies I’ve contacted haven’t been very helpful.

Any support would be great, thanks!

Fellow Scots in Manchester

Any fellow Scots in Manchester got plans for the upcoming World Cup games?

I haven’t a clue if / where the games being shown on Sunday. Most of my English mates seem strangely unavailable between 2am and 4am on Sunday morning.

I presume there’s a fair few Scottish people down here so if anyone fancies meeting up for any of the games be good to chat!

Consolidating ISAs or not?

Hi All,

Looking for some advice on the best to way to manage S&S ISAs. I’m currently 29 and trying to build up my savings pot after buying a flat a few years ago.

I used a Moneybox LISA to buy my flat and after using all my savings for that purchase, I then decided to open a S&S ISA with them. Think it’s a really good product, UI and company.

I’ve also started using T212 in the last year or so, picking stocks based on knowledge and some tips.

S&S ISA Moneybox: 45k (+38.6%) in 3 years.
S&S ISA T212: 12.5k (+64.1%) in 1 year.

Is it still best to keep these separate? I’m quite enjoying the idea of both. For awareness, the bulk of my monthly saving is sent to Moneybox with a small proportion going to T212 for the select stocks I’ve picked.

Would welcome any insight / tips from this ever helpful community. Thanks!

What do with Micron?

Hi All, keen for some suggestions on a prediction that’s went far beyond my expectations.

I bought Micron well over a year ago and quite believe where it’s got me to now.

I’m not in any rush for the money, just wondered if there’s any others holding the stock, cashing out? Any tips would be great!

Hi All, long term lurker in this forum and think it’s an absolutely brilliant forum with excellent advice.

I’m turning 30 next month and have truly enjoyed my 20s, experiencing the absolute most that I can with those closest to me. As a result of that I’ve had a fair bit of lifestyle creep that I’m happy to have done but ready to rein it in.

Keen for advice on how people managed to prioritise savings in their 30s and split of ISA vs Pension.

My current situ is:

S&S ISA - 52k
Pension - 43k
Property - 85k equity (65% LTV) 140k mortgage remaining.

Pension from my job is poor (4% contributions) and I’ve just started this month putting in 9% myself.

Life context

Long term partner, kids not in the horizon for at least another 3 years so really want a safe buffer before having them.

Will likely move from my flat to a house but again this will be 2 years or so away. My mortgage is up in September on 2.2% rate so not sure whether to lump an overpayment to get down to 60%?

Based in the North West earning 70k pa.

Keen to know where to really focus when I want to be tighter on finances - is it best to up on pension or S&S ISA?

Fixed outgoings at least 1.2k a month but not been able to do any set savings per month as I’ve just wiped out my debts. Now seems the sensible time to do so.

Long winded way of asking for advice but keen for perspectives on how to maximise savings and any tips on targets to set!

Thanks!

Hi All, I’ve been in the process of building a start up in the sport space (SaaS) and the product is in proof of concept at the moment.

I’m trying to understand where there is any meet ups for start ups or entrepreneurs in Manchester?

Really keen to test the idea and concept with fellow entrepreneurs / those that are well experienced in helping building and scaling businesses.

If anyone’s keen to meet up and help share ideas on what we’re building that would be very much welcomed.

Any help / tips on where to go would be great.

Thanks.
