Just picked up this 1951 Elgin Shockmaster.

I cleaned the crystal up some with poly watch and replaced the strap. Loving the look so far. I still plan on servicing it and trying to get that last scratch off the crystal.

I added some 365 nm led lights to my 1880s German clock to see what it would look like. Not sure if I like it. What do you think?

So nice living close to Cas-Ker. I ordered some crystals and tools around noon by email and they were ready for pick up by 2. Can’t say enough nice things about them.

Cincinnati is also home to the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute AWCI. Some perks for watchmakers living in the Queen City.

Local Watchmakers

I am considering joining The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute (AWCI) and I am wondering if there are any local members here. I see they offer a referral bonus so if anyone wants to give me a referral then I would be happy to use it. I would also love any feedback on their courses before signing up if anyone has experience with it. I am a hobbyist watchmaker looking to expand my skills.

Thanks!
