Started with a raspberry pi…
So should I invest in a decommissioned power edge server or just get a couple more elite desk minis and run a cluster?

For those that contributed constructive criticism, you are greatly appreciated. Took what was said and used it as fuel.
Customer has decided to retire their on prem DSX system and upgrade to a hybrid cloud Rhombus system. While I’ve performed a DSX to Verkada takeover, I must say…that was both a learning and character building experience.
This industry has humbled me. A new deployment on new construction is one thing. Transitioning from on prem servers, Wiegand protocol readers, 26 bit credentials, power hungry Von Duprin crash bars that eat 16 amps of inrush current and their associated power supplies to these newer, smarter more efficient and secure systems is another.
I’m adding more tools to my tool belt each and every deployment. And I mean that both literally and figuratively if you catch my drift. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the short duration of my career in tech, it’s to shut up and listen to what the old timers have to say. A couple minutes spent listening to a master of their craft can save you not only from having to learn from the same mistakes they’ve made and learned from, but an immense amount of time in executing these enterprise level, multi site deployments.
Us young guys and gals, we might act like we know it all from time to time, but, we know we don’t. We go home, when no one is looking, and spend hours every night researching and developing, trying to figure it out so we don’t advertise our ignorance to the customer. The industry is changing at a rapid pace. Moore’s law is no joke.
If you’re an experienced integrator who shares the wealth of knowledge you’ve acquired over the countless years in your career, with the younger generation such as myself..you have my deepest respect. You men and women are part of the solution.
I’m looking for a mentor. And I’m willing to pay you for your time and experience. If you have over a decade of experience and you’re interested in helping a young man who is passionate and cares about the continued growth of this industry. I promise to not waste your time, to share your knowledge and expertise with my team and encourage the continuation of that cycle.
Looking for recommendations/links for bushings/grommets larger than 3/4”. My local home depot only has 3/4” snap ins.
Rhombus 4 door controller install. 3rd of many to do. I usually use conduit on my installs but this one made sense to install next to the ladder rack with composite cable dressed down it. Waiting on customer to finalize naming, then labels go on. Honest critiques needed and appreciated.
