EPA Farmer’s Market - 08/19
A beautiful gloomy morning spent at the EPA Farmer’s Market! It was so nice to see others from our community there. Will definitely be coming back to buy something next week!
📍Bloomhouse 8:30am -12:30pm on Wednesdays

The food at Bar Underdog is top-tier!
Shrimp & Octopus tostada
Beef meatball skewer
Corn esquite
Agucachile - my FAVORITE & must try! So perfect, the salsa matcha on top elevated this dish, I wanted to drink the juices on the plate lol
Mochiko chicken
Hand cut fries and like a little curry dip I believe
Pork Belly- delicious.
Highly recommend the food 10/10!
I walked to La Estrellita today (on Bay & University) with my daughter and I literally saw with my own eyes a bunch of people openly smoking cr*ck or whatever drugs they smoke out those pipes (& no not weed). Like do that somewhere else not near children or elderly people.
I had to debate on whether I was gonna walk through there or not bc I was with my daughter in her stroller and I would hate for her to get exposed to any of that.
I’m all for people hanging out where they please & do what they want, but now La Estrellita owners are escorting minors out safely past them because they don’t feel safe. This has been an ongoing problem. These kids don’t feel safe getting exposed to drug use 🫨
This was also right after all the kids were getting out of school and walking home.
& yes they’ve called and they don’t do anything about it.
It’s such a blessing to live here and be in such a rich community. I grew up going to events at this same library when I was little and now I get to bring my daughter to these events & fun activities!
If you’ve considered going to the library I really suggest you do! I’ve met some great neighbors there & the library staff is the best. A lot of great resources too!
I love East Palo Alto.
I just ran into the lady who sells tamales near Jack Farrell and she said the city isn’t allowing her to sell tamales anymore without a permit. (Apparently many street food vendors got letters this week) She says that’s how her family was barely making it by. She’s so scared and doesn’t know how to navigate any of that.
I’m gonna do everything I can to help her out but does anyone know if the city is allocating any funds to help people who are going through this? Many of these people are trusted by the community and have been selling to us for years.
Got informed today by the EPAPD that it’s NOT illegal to shoot BB guns in your backyard in EPA apparently 😂
I feel so safe in my backyard, playing with my INFANT daughter, knowing the neighbor 12yr old kid (who’s killed birds w/said bbgun) is legally doing so 🥰
All I wanted for my first Mother's Day was to eat these cabeza tacos from Tacos El Guerito in San Jose, CA! I ate one before the picture, so delicious 🤤 10/10
Spotted two Bears on our hike at Mirror Lake (05/04/2026)
Didn’t realize we went on their opening weekend but it makes sense now. We waited in line for an hour 15min just to order and maybe another half hour to get our food. Seating was very limited, but luckily found two spots in the bar area. Tried a pour of the Weekender and it was delicious! Will be back for the beer for sure.
Jack Farrell Park is so beautiful and has so much potential to be better! A lot of it is deteriorating as it’s been used for 20+ years. There’s even moss (or mold?) growing under the baby slide :(
I bring my baby here every day and I’m more aware of these things now. Hopefully there’s some funding leftover to improve this area this year.
