As title says, I've watched some "guides" but prioritized in game experience.

I've been playing her mainly as a flank/dive and I mid-line when I can't dive/flank

But I instantly explode whenever a melee hero like BC/DD come near me and not entirely sure how to deal with that

Okay i'm kinda new to this subreddit, but i've wanted to confirm something.

Is Ami's healing terrible this season or i just can't play her all of a sudden? i assumed she was terrible but the way the developers buffed her ultimate makes me doubt myself (and i've encountered people saying she's perfectly fine right now)

i can't anti dive or off-dps without my team exploding entirely unlike S8. She has been stuck at level 36-38 this entire season for me.

I've been playing reed since I have started playing this game

Aside from the character being terrible and VERY hard to extract value from after reaching a specific point in the game

I feel like his skill ceiling keeps going lower and lower for no reason and nobody is calling NetEase out for it.

Initially reed had overshield for his inflated form and ultimate attack but rivals reworked the bonus health to be actual 350 HP heal (in Season 5) this significantly increased Reed's survivability. And a lot of people back then agreed that this weakened reed's skill expression

Now in season 9 you're fully capable of going in and out of inflated form every 8 seconds to get that sweet 350 HP heal whenever you please and avoiding the self CC in awkward moments.

Now I'm not saying Reed is as low as Scarlet Witch, Squirrel Girl, Rocket.

however, I feel like instead of actually fixing some of the issues reed has, rivals opts to just lowering his skill ceiling every patch.

I'm Legendary Mister Fantastic, I've had the title for 2-3 seasons now with over 300 hours

I genuinely cannot tell what seperates a fantastic main from a "occasionally" playing fantastic person

this is the first season I feel like his gameplay loop is actually brain dead rather than smooth..

You could argue "cooldown management" & "game sense" but these aren't particularly skills exclusive to fantastic.

What do you think?

(And just to be clear, in my opinion being bad and difficult to extract value out of doesn't mean the character has high skill expression it means the said character is just terrible.)

Straight to the point

A) Shorten all reed's kit animation durations (inflated form inflation and deflation and his ult activation/bounces aswell)

B) Reduce Rocket's team up CD from 8 seconds to 6 seconds when rocket is around

C) Reduce Thing's team up CD from 20 to 15 in base version & reduce the CD from 15 to 10 in enhanced verison when Ben's around.

D) Reduce ult charge requirement from 3100 to 2800

E) Revert all the shadow nerfs (Elasticity decay in fridge form, delayed health change after inflation)

And boom this is all what reed needs to jump from clunky/slow character to a smooth character with more variety into it and making his ult much more accessible while making it much better.

I avoided any raw damage changes and focused on increasing his D-P-S (damage-per-second) without specifying any specific numbers.

As title says, reed just cannot be reworked into another role, we've seen what black widow rework (which IS VERY justified) has led to

Majority of BW mains are complaining and throwing tantrums (and we all know that she was genuinely the weakest DPS in the roster and symbol of throwing, if any character needed a huge rework it was Natasha)

Do I think that BW needed this rework? Absolutely.

While reed has been constantly in F-D tier for multiple seasons (and still is) a rework in a scale BIGGER than widow's for reed would upset the silent majority.

Honestly for the people who want him to be reworked into another role to actually become viable you should reconsider asking for buffs/reworks to his ult/inflated form/team ups instead.

Just like the title says, do not get your hopes up for S9.0 just enjoy the new abilities and figure out the new techs and enjoy the game in general

When relatively compared to other team ups reed is going to be powercrept to oblivion with either team up load out, that's fine zyhiong said that we won't be getting team ups every new season but instead tuning them is going to take priority.

I'm sure with multiple patches and community feed back reed will find a good spot in the pro play, until then keep playing him and continue supporting the character by playing him, making content about him, posting about him, all of that stuff.

Honestly it's super underwhelming how you're going to be forced to choose the rocket team up just for the bouncy effect that reed's ult gets.

I know the team up is cool in general it allows you to have full control over your kit but some people would rather to have the raw damage over the kit control but then your ult will stay useless as hell.

Basically the game is forcing you to choose between neutral and ultimate/kit control and reed already doesn't excel in any of these two sides to be sacrificing the other.

Not trying to be all gloomy or anything just wish it wasn't part of any team up.

Okay so i have taken the time to analyze the team up.

the team up is going to be active AT ALL times now and it'll MOST likely allow you to accumulate around 200 elasticity at max and you'll be able to inflate and deflate at your own accord but THERE is 8 seconds cooldown (which is fair) so no ore inflating a lot per game but you'll have TOTAL control over your kit, if we were to make assumptions here, this means that if you play the long game you CAN stay in the inflated form for 16 seconds.

upgraded teamup upgrades your ultimate attack and makes it bouncy MAKING IT WAY HARDER FOR PATTY caking AND GIVES YOU 200 elasticity allowing you to INFLATE THE MOMENT you're done ulting. THIS IS HUGE! while HIS DPS hasnt increased it's going to be more disturbing and allow you to actually secure picks and force ults.

and i cant wait to get my hands on that thing team up we might be able to have actual combos now.

I've seen a lot of people theorizing that Rivals will be getting a huge team-up, competitive system, and balancing overhaul for Season 9 based on the producer's tweets, in which he promised that a massive overhaul would be coming to Rivals in 2026.

If this is true (which I hope it is especially for the competitive system it's genuinely filled with throwers, smurfs, and cheaters as I'm writing this).

here is my personal wishlist below.

Honestly with them changing the dev vision format, this is starting to sound more and more likely.

Could this open the door for another Fantastic Four team-up? I'll just be theorizing over here, but considering they said "Fantastic Four synergy will be weakened for a while" (not word for word, but that was what was implied by it), we could be getting a new team-up that is better and more rewarding for all F4 members. If there's a team-up system overhaul, the F4 would naturally be one of the first teams to experience it.

Possible Mister Fantastic Rework?

Okay while a new team-up is definitely possible because the Torch and Reed current team-ups are terrible, Reed isn't particularly at the top of the list for "unplayable needs an entirely different kit" like Black Widow.

However I have an assumption that Reed's kit will be reworked at some point (even if not in S9) to prioritize a faster TTK (time to kill) and reduce the clunkiness his kit currently has by:

- Integrating the Rocket team-up into his base kit.

- Reducing the animation time for his inflated form/ultimate attack activation/de-activation.

- Reworking his ultimate attack in some shape or form.

- Sorting out the Distended Grip bugs & Fridge Form no regs.

While I'm not saying anyone has officially mentioned Reed in the "overhaul theorizing by any streamer or content creator" I'm sure he is near the top of the list for the Rivals rework/entirely re-balance scheme alongside BW, off-supports, and fliers, if they were to make a huge overhaul for launch/early post-launch heroes.

I'm not trying to get anyone's hopes up, but I'd say keep an eye out for tomorrow. Even if it's not our turn specifically tomorrow, if any hero gets a rework or a game-changing team-up, it means we'll eventually get our turn.

So what's the probability of us actually getting a summer skin? I'm pretty sure summer wave 1 for skins will start with S8.5 and continue throughout S9.
