What are the not so obvious features you think model Y owners should be aware of? Please share your finds...mine is below

E.g. I just found out yesterday that I can spray the front under bumper camera using the spray icon on the view camera screen

Wtf!?! I just learnt I can wash my front camera under the bumper on my model Y. Lmao ok!! 45 days and 5100 miles later.

hahaha...if you didn't know, turn the camera on and use the shower looking icon in the bottom left of the camera view. Now I wish they had this on all cameras.

FSD v 14.2.2.5 behaving differently even without updating. I didn't upgrade to 14.3 on purpose. But last 7 days or so FSD is behaving differently.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Chill used to stay within 2 to 3 mph within the speed limit. And standard used to go 5 or so mph above the speed limit. Last few days chill is staying 2 to 0 mph UNDER the speed limit and standard is 2 mph over the speed limit. I like this better but why did it change?

It'll drive like this for several miles then suddenly change the behavior for no apparent reason. Kinda irritated rn as Im going to be driving 110 miles here in a bit

FSD is stupidly amazing. All we need is the speed control and better recognition of the speed limit signs. Wanna go 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 20mph over? Sure, there should be a setting for it! But there is not!! Why?? Wtf is going on in that trillionaire's head? Cyber taxis are more important? (We're Data!)

Am I right or am I right?

2026 Model Y stops charging randomly before reaching set limit

I have schedule set to start at 12am and stop at 8am and have a wall charger set to charge at 38amps

I plugged it in last night after midnight somewhere at 28% with charge limit of 100% as I needed 100% today (usually 80% is the limit). And I checked my app at 7am and it had stopped at 48% at 4:04am and had a notification on the phone saying charging stopped at 48%. After a few minutes of browsing in the app, I went back to the main screen for the model Y and it had resumed charging on its own by about 7:05am (I didn't press start charging yet).

It's happening before as well where it starts charging fine but stops at a random number between 40 and 70%. If I resume charging, it resumes fine. I have charged at 48amps for a few hours and haven't had issues. Not sure what to do?

Ive had the car about 40 days and it's done this to me about 4 or so times. Other times it charges fine.

I realize it's not the best thing to turn the wheels when completely stopped but FSD does it quite a bit and I do it sometimes as well...there is a mild to medium creaking sound sometimes when turning. Take it in?

Should I take it in? Sometimes there is a sound and sometimes there is not. Like snap, snap, snap, snap sound. It's not mild and it's not very loud either.

The ground? It feels like the sound that wheels make when you're turning right or left while moving and the axle needs fixing. Like snap snap snap...

Never had any car do this. I'm at 3500 miles, have not hit anything and 30 days since delivery. I would say this happens 20% of the time and it doesn't matter if I'm at the extreme of turning or not

Asking for someone...Tesla electric drive plan and only charging between 12am and 12pm but the charging stats still shows daytime charging 48% and free charging 52%. Will the bill also show the same?

Additionally, the wall charger stats shows approximately correct times on the graph under energy but on charge history, it shows all types of times (I'm thinking it's when it was plugged in, not when the charge actually started)

Anyone see this? They're worried they're gonna get charged for daytime charging when the schedule is set to start at 12am and that's the only time charging has been happening about 97% of the time

I'm driving 2026 Model Y RWD Premium from 100% to 6% twice a week and a bit concerned about battery health - should I stop and recharge half way through (very very inconvenient and undesirable) ?

I charge to 100% and drive it within 5 hours of getting to 100%. I drain to 6% within the next 14 hours and the moment I enter the garage, it gets plugged in and charges back up to 80%. It sits at between 80% and 50% rest of the week.

Last night I arrived home with only 23 miles left but I do pass 3 super chargers during my trip - so that relieves some anxiety. Superchargers at 0, 60 and 100 miles out of 110 miles each way trip with some additional driving while I'm at destination (240 to 280 miles on the charge basically)

What temp do you run your AC on? In any other vehicle, I set 72. But in my model Y I've been using 70 and it's been HOT AF! Today I set to 66 and it's wayyy better! But it's not cooler than 74 inside the cabin for sure...maybe even warmer

The app shows car is at 66 while it's still very warm in the vehicle. What's going on? Where is the sensor located? It's not measuring temp at the cabin air intake like I would think?

Edit: I got ceramic tint installed on all windows and roof and I'm infuriated I'm still having to deal with heat - feels like it has improved a lot since I set the temp to 66/67. It feels like daytime and nighttime temp.will have to be manually adjust which I never have to do on other vehicles.

Super annoyed right now at my Model Y glass roof and Xpel XR Plus ($54k and $1650 later)!

So I love the FSD and feel that model y is a good vehicle (I bought it for the FSD). I drove it for a couple weeks without any tint. It was hot AF inside the vehicle during the day with temps around 85 to 90 degrees.

I went and got Xpel XR Plus Installed on ALL glass with 20% on the roof. the weather is up in the mid 90s. And I feel so much heat on my scalp and forehead, it feels like I'm getting cooked. I had to put my fishing hat on to make it bearable. I have the front and back AC set at 66 (in my hyindai palisade it run it at 72 degrees). AC is now comfortable running at HIGH front and rear (I'm the only passenger).

I like the being able to see the sky but it'll suck it I have to put a permanent shade up there. What's the point of the glass roof and payong a premium for it?

Sorry for the rant, but is there anything else I can do besides either keep a hat on or use a sunshade (I bought one and it's sitting in its box still - trying not to use it but I'm gonna have to. I literally have a slight headache and feels like my head is in an oven)

I trust the Tesla FSD way too much. Please remind me not to. 30% city and 70% highway driving

I'm on 14.2.2.5 and have been delaying the upgrade to 14.3.3.

Only issue I've had so far (major but I live with it) is following speed limits on the freeway in construction zones. It does weird things but I think it's learning. I'm only 16 day into this and so far love it.

Edit: i.stay in chill mode 99% of the time and it behaves the way I would like it to in terms of following speed limits (1 to 3mph above). so the issue is I'm going 75mph and I enter construction zone, speed limit changes to 60mph. Then the speed limit changes back to 75mph after 1 to 10 miles. Any and all of below may happen

  • Sometimes it'll register the speed limit change from 60mph to 75 and vice versa sometimes it won't.
  • speed limit on screen shows the updated limit but it continues driving above of below the speed limit
  • it registers the speed limit from 75 to 60 but within seconds reverts to 75mph within a few seconds

2000 miles and 17 days into it. I love love love FSD. I type this as I'm going 70mph in a 60. Oh fuck I was in standard mode and it was following speeds of cars around me. Switching to chill immediately reduced the speed to 62. Good boy FSD!
