Hello everyone! I'm sure all of you have noticed posts on this subreddit where the structure, wording and the tune goes exactly like this...

"16M looking for friends"

"15F, wanting to talk"

"16F, want to chat?"

While we understand that making friends is one of the core reasons that many people join this community, these low effort posts? They often attract the wrong attention. We're talking... the creepy 20-30s something year olds and predators lurking on this subreddit.

We would love to see friendships being built just from a simple post like this. But unfortunately, these same posts have become an easy target for those who prey on teens.

And now because of this, as of today, future low-effort friend seeking posts will be removed. This is to make this a safe space for teenagers in the UAE.

Now now now, stop. This does NOT mean we're discouraging people from making friends here, don't get it twisted. What we're doing is quite the opposite, actually. We love to see genuine connections happen naturally here in this subreddit. This is a growing, active community that consists of people that are here for the same thing as you are. Building connections.

If you're looking to meet people, you can:

● Share your hobbies, interests, or favorite games

● Start a discussion, ask a fun question

● Give others something you can connect with than just your age and gender

Our goal isn't to stop people from making friends. It's to help create a safer community where those friendships can happen naturally with less risk.

If anyone finds a creep who is active in/may have found you from r/UAETeenagers in dms, you do not need to post it for the entire subreddit to see but instead, report that user to the mods via modmail.

They will instantly be banned, and all you have to do after is to block and report that user to reddit. Do not engage in further conversation with the user, for the sake of your sanity.

Hoping to see everyone reporting these accounts immediately so we can keep our community clean, and have a more safer space for everyone.

We're both the most active on the sub, as pointed out by other users. So of course with users like the two of us, this subreddit would be much more safer.

And lowkey this week is crazy, you got pedos caught left and right while at the same time, you've got tons of drama started for petty childish reasons (eg: messi is pessi bro i hate you)
