Predator Atlas 8 vs Lenovo Legion Go 2, if money isn’t an issue, which would you choose and why?

Hi guys!

I’m trying to decide between the Acer Predator Atlas 8 G3 Extreme and Lenovo Legion Go 2 Z2 Extreme.

Let’s say money isn’t an issue and you’re choosing purely based on which is the better handheld overall.

The Atlas 8 interests me because of the G3 Extreme and much stronger performance, especially for newer AAA games. On the other hand, I really like the Legion Go 2 because of the 8.8” OLED, detachable controllers and kickstand.

My main use would be single-player/AAA games and Soulslikes. I already have a Switch 2 as my main handheld, so this would mostly be for games that aren’t available on Switch 2 or games that perform significantly better on PC.
If you could only keep one for the next few years, which would you choose?

Atlas 8 for the performance/future-proofing?
or
Legion Go 2 for the OLED, bigger screen and versatility?

Would especially love to hear from anyone who has used G3 Extreme and Z2 Extreme handhelds.

Thanks!

What 3 priorities should the Philippines focus on for a better future in the next 50 years? today?

I’m talking about things that actually affect everyday life—better healthcare and education, efficient public transportation, affordable basic needs, better-paying jobs, and good infrastructure.

If you could choose only 3 things the Philippines should prioritize today for a better future, what would they be?

Would you go fully digital if all PS5 games supported Portal cloud streaming?

If all digitally bought PS5 games eventually support cloud streaming on the PlayStation Portal, I might switch to fully digital.

Being able to play my games directly on the Portal without needing my PS5 turned on would be really convenient. I still prefer physical games, but if digital prices are reasonable, this could convince me to switch.

Would you go fully digital because of this?

Started playing The Witcher 3 this week (~10 hours in)… now watching the Netflix adaptation

I picked up *The Witcher 3* during the sale and I’m about 10 hours in. I’m hooked already, so I started watching the Netflix adaptation too.

I’m really getting into the lore. What I find most interesting isn’t just how strong Geralt is, but the life of a witcher.

People hate him, treat him like he’s nothing, people being racist, insult him, and bad-mouth him even after he helps them. Yet he stays calm and just keeps doing the right thing. I think that’s what makes his character so compelling.

No spoilers please!

Found an Endeavor plush in Germany!

Found this Endeavor plush while shopping in Germany. It immediately reminded me of Hawks’ origin episode, where his mom bought him an Endeavor toy because it was cheaper than an All Might one. Such a small detail, but it made that scene so much more heartbreaking.

Anyone else immediately thought of that scene? 🔥🪽

Finally pulled the trigger… bought The Witcher 3 because it was on sale.

I’ve somehow gone all these years without playing it. Saw the sale, figured I was out of excuses, and finally bought The Witcher 3.

Going in completely blind. Any tips for a first-time player? Things you wish you knew before starting? (No spoilers please!)

Also… should I just get lost doing side quests, or stick to the main story first?

Looking to build a Dota 2 esports-style setup similar to what we see at pro tournaments.

I notice a lot of events seem to use Lenovo Legion gear, so I’d like to build something with that same vibe. My budget is around €1,500 for the PC only (monitor not included).

A few questions:
● What CPU and GPU would you recommend for a smooth 1440p/high FPS Dota 2 experience?
● Is 32GB RAM worth it, or is 16GB still enough?
● Do pro players actually use RGB, or do they usually keep it minimal/off?
● Any recommendations for a good case, cooling, and PSU?
● Also, what gaming monitor would you pair with this setup? (Budget separate from the PC.)

The goal is a reliable, esports-focused build that can also handle streaming and other games without overspending.

Thanks!

Why do people make Filipino celebrities so rich and famous despite many of them contributing little of real substance compared to people making a real impact?

Why is the Philippines quick to blame video games after crimes like school shootings? Does this make the Philippines look embarrassing (“nakakahiya”) on the international stage?

As a Filipino living in Germany, I had mixed reactions to this. I understand that authorities want to investigate every possible factor, but it also feels unusual to see a game developer being invited to a Senate hearing over a criminal case.

What do you think? Is the Philippines focusing too much on video games, or is this a fair part of the investigation?

Thoughts on my dual-monitor setup? ASUS ROG XG259QNS + ASUS Eye Care 24” 120Hz

Hey everyone,

I’m finally building my first proper gaming PC after years of gaming on a laptop and PS5. For my monitor setup, I’m thinking of getting:

Main Monitor: ASUS ROG Strix XG259QNS (24.5”, 1080p, 380Hz IPS) – €323

Secondary Monitor: ASUS Eye Care VY249HGR (24”, 1080p, 120Hz IPS) – €79

My use case:
League of Legends
Dota 2
Battlefield 6
Some single-player games
Twitch/TikTok streaming
YouTube, Discord, Spotify, browsing on the second monitor
The idea is to use the ROG as my main esports monitor and the cheaper ASUS as a side monitor for chat, guides, videos, OBS, etc.

A few questions:
Is the XG259QNS worth it, or is 380Hz overkill?
Any issues running two monitors with different refresh rates (380Hz + 120Hz)?
Is the €79 ASUS Eye Care monitor good enough as a second display?

Would you choose a different secondary monitor for around €100?
If this was your setup, would you keep it or change something?
For context, I’m in Germany and don’t mind spending a bit more if there’s a significant improvement, but I also don’t want to waste money just for marketing specs.

Thanks for any advice! 😊

PC Specs:
RTX 5070 Ti
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
64GB DDR5
2TB NVMe SSD
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Thinking of Building My First Dream Gaming PC (€3,000 Budget) but Having Second Thoughts 😅

Hey everyone,

I’m finally at the point where I can afford to build my first gaming PC. I’ve been saving for a while, and the custom build I want comes out to around €3,000.

The thing is… I’m surprisingly hesitant.

For context, I already own a gaming laptop, and it runs the games I usually play just fine. Most of my gaming time is spent on Dota 2, League of Legends, and I’m looking forward to Battlefield 6. So it’s not like I need a gaming PC to play games.

But I’ve always thought it would be nice to have a proper gaming setup with a desktop PC, a nice monitor, and a dedicated gaming space. It’s something I’ve wanted for years.

At the same time, my brain keeps throwing questions at me:
“That’s €3,000 that could go into investments.”
“That’s a big boost to my emergency fund.”
“You already have a gaming laptop. Do you really need a PC?”
“What if I 💀 tomorrow and all that’s left is a very expensive RGB box?” 😂

The funny thing is, I’m not going into debt for this. I can technically afford it. I have a stable job, pay my bills, and save regularly. I think the hesitation comes from being naturally frugal and always looking at the opportunity cost of every purchase.
Part of me says life is short and hobbies matter. Another part of me keeps calculating how much €3,000 could grow into if I invested it over the next 10–20 years.

Has anyone else been in this situation?
- Bought a gaming PC even though you already had a gaming laptop?
- Regretted it?
- Felt it was worth every penny?
- Ended up wishing you’d gone for a cheaper build instead?

I’d love to hear your experiences and what you would do in my situation.

Thanks!

Inviting my parents to Germany, confused about the Verpflichtungserklärung process

Hi everyone,

I’m living and working in Stuttgart and I’m planning to invite my parents to visit me for a short family visit.

I’ve been reading the Stuttgart website regarding the Verpflichtungserklärung for a visitor visa, but I’m still a bit confused about the practical steps and would appreciate hearing from people who have gone through the process themselves.

From what I understand:

I need to apply for the Verpflichtungserklärung in Stuttgart.
I need to provide my passport, residence permit, payslips, rental contract, and copies of my parents’ passports.
I may also need an employment certificate from my employer.
After receiving the Verpflichtungserklärung, I send the required documents to my parents so they can apply for their visitor visa.

A few questions:
Did you send the original Verpflichtungserklärung by courier, or was a scanned copy sufficient?
How strict was Stuttgart when checking income and housing requirements?
How long did it take to receive the Verpflichtungserklärung after the appointment?
Besides the Verpflichtungserklärung, did you also provide bank statements, rental contract, and employment certificate?
Were there any documents that helped strengthen your parents’ visa application?
Is there anything you wish you had known before starting the process?

For context:
I live and work in Stuttgart.
I have a valid residence permit.
My parents would stay with me during their visit.
The purpose of the trip is family visit and tourism.

I’d be grateful for any tips, experiences, or advice from people who have invited parents or close relatives to Germany.

Thanks!
