I used chatgpt to build my modest wardrobe for fall

So, anyone using AI these days? I recently started wearing hijab and dressing modestly. So, I had chatgpt help me. First, we cleaned out my closet. I took pictures of all my clothes and discussed what I was looking for “A modest wardrobe to use with hijab “. I loaded all my clothes into chatgpt and it helped me get rid of soo many clothes. Then, using my remaining clothes it created me a sample wardrobe and actually gave me photos! (See photo posted). Thought I would share this idea and not gate keep. Had anyone else done this?

Burkinis

I just started dressing as a hijabi and swimming in TX is kind of a big deal. I am worried about how things will go the first time I wear a burkini. How did it go for you? Do you have any brands you would recommend or general advice on burkinis?

Am I Allowed to sit on a prayer matt during my period?

I have autism and I am trying to help with my sense of routine. If I were to do Dhikr on my prayer matt, instead of prayer, at the designated prayer times, would this be ok? Thank you for your help! 🥰🥰🥰

I told my family I wear hijab

Salam! I just had to share that I got up the courage to tell my mother that I am now wearing a hijab. I started wearing it this month, after reverting 3 years ago.

So, I decided to text my mother. She is a very conservative Christian and has somewhat misunderstood Islam in general. I was so worried to just show up one day wearing a hijab, so I decided to text her.

I sent a message telling her I wear a hijab now. I also included some pictures. She took awhile to respond but was not worried that I am wearing the hijab. She was not overly enthusiastic either though. She promised to tell my brother and father, inshallah. Hopefully, they react well. My brother demoted me from being my niece’s Godmother when he found out I am Muslim. So, he has not been very supportive. JKA for any friendly advice or understanding and guidance.

I just told my Mom I started wearing Hijab

Salam! I am a revert of 3 years and this month I have finally made the step to where the hijab. I come from a very conservative, Catholic family and most of them watch Fox news all day. I am worried they believe all the Islamaphobic content out there. This is especially happening where I live in Texas.
I have had mostly positive experiences with telling my family. Though, my mom was actually slightly jealous that she thought I had told other before her!

Anyways, I am just really worried how my family will react. I am married and don’t live at home, so this helps. I have been avoiding letting my side of the family see me in hijab because of their values. Any advice or just a friendly dua would be appreciated. JKA

How Islam Teaches Converts

(Or how it doesn’t)

I come from a Catholic background. In the Catholic Church, when someone wants to convert, they go through a standardized 9 month class and then are Baptized at the end of the program as Catholics.

Is there anything close to this process in Islam? I feel like I converted and have been given very little to zero direction on what I need to do next.

I have been to the Embrace convert groups here in Dallas but nothing is a standard set of classes that all converts take and will have a good foundation for Islamic life and being a Muslim.

I think this is such a disservice to new Muslims. What do people do? And do I have to build something similar myself to make this happen?
