What if Earth's seasons lasted for 6 months instead of 3?

If earth suddenly had the season length of mars, so instead of 3 we got 6 months of summer, spring, winter, fall, what would happen? How would humanity or the animals adapt?

I hate being 19

I hate the isolation that comes from it, on paper you might still be a teenager linguistically speaking but it's like you're not really apart of that teenage life stage anymore since you're no longer in high school. can't really do teenage shit no more because you gotta focus on working and doing all of this boring "adult" shit. and it's very difficult to make real friends now. It's like bro this shit is ass, if you 17 or younger please enjoy that shit gng, enjoy being able to see your friends every single day and being able to goof around and do dumb shit cause after you hit 18 it's a wrap for that. fun time is over bro now you gotta go to work

Would a day program be ideal for a high functioning autistic who needs structure?

I'm 19 and I have high functioning autism, was in special ed and ever since school ended last year it made me feel lonely, isolated and I was depressed. because it made me lose all contact with my peers, I lost my supportive teachers that I would talk to every morning after breakfast, I lost the sense of community that I had, it's just like I went from having a place to belong to just having nothing at all and that really fucked with me mentally, I think it's called the "support cliff" where at 18 you just lose everything and it's just fucked up to me to give a kid structure and community for 17 years of their life than at 18 strip it away from them completely, slap a piece of paper in their hand and say "good luck in life" and then just boot them out the door, only thing they do for us is get us into voc rehab which helps you get a job but that's it, all of your other support needs such as structure, mentorship etc is just neglected and you're just stuck in the house most of the time with no where to go, no where to have to that continued community and that's been my reality for a year, I work part time 2 days a week on weekends at a grocery store and the rest of the week is just spent at home having nothing to do, one of my other autistic friends joined a day program that he was telling me about, and I've heard about day programs before but my only concern is that they seem to only be catered to people who have severe autism and I don't want to join if I'm the only high functioning person there, it would make me feel out of place you know? and I think they don't have any age limits either so I could be in there with people who are in their 40s or 50s instead of people who are close in age with me which would feel even more weird? But I don't know I'm thinking of trying one out because I desperately need structure I'm tired of being stuck in the house with no where to go or nothing to do, any thoughts?

What would america been like if the propaganda failed to work?

Sometimes I wonder in an alternative reality, if the capitalist, anti-socialist propaganda had failed at brainwashing and dumbing down the american population, what would the country had looked like today? how different would the world had been?

Man it's the worse trying to make friends after high school

I graduated in January and haven't went to uni because we can't afford it, and since I'm no longer in school I realized how making actual friends feels damn near impossible. you know in school friendships develop naturally, but in the real world there is no tight knit community structures so if you want friends you gotta go up to random people in public and that just feels unnatural and weird. we live in such an individualistic society that I feel like most strangers do not want you approaching them, and it's even worse when you see people around your age but they already have their own groups and they don't want to expand it to new people. I do have coworkers around my age that I talk too, we joke around and get along well but I know that they're not actual friends just "work buddies" because it's like you'll try to progress it and initiate hangouts outside of work but they just never go through with it or make excuses as to why they can't hang out, it's like you're relationship with them will never evolve beyond "work buddy" it just stays there. and it's like damn man I just want some new real friends. this is the main reason why I wish I never took school for granted, it's like you go from having a tight knit community to just nothing overnight.
