Just asking for curiosity's sake and some clarification: What's everything that makes Orochi generally be considered pretty average/weak as a duelist at top-level play (as far as I know)?

The main things, based on what I've heard before, are that Storm Rush is hard/super hard (or maybe just straight-up unrealistic in general) to use against players with fast reaction speeds and strong game knowledge because it's vulnerable to being stuffed with lights, and that his kit just isn't quite strong enough or given "top-tier tools" to compensate for having the 120HP pool - but I'm not really "sure" about the full picture.

Orochi seems to generally be considered pretty strong and solid for the majority of dueling skill levels, so I'm just curious about why Orochi really drops against the top players despite having really strong tools like his great dodge cancels.

Or is it more of a case of "Orochi is solid enough for the most part - but simply outclassed and not that desirable to choose over other characters with similar UB/deflect mixup playstyles"?

What are your personal "I cannot play this character for the life of me" characters in this game?

For whatever ungodly reason, it seems to be Warden for me.

I feel like I mix up my moves and the different Shoulder Bash levels and feints quite a bit with him in general, but my win rate and general success with him are absolutely in the gutter. I have no idea what the cause is, it just seems to be like that for me.

How do you guys generally think Void Soul DH and the general metagame (such as Confront Tripwire Face Hunter) - and the huge gap between going first and going second, and between high-tempo and low-tempo cards - could actually potentially be properly fixed up, right now?

I feel like the current situation is pretty complex overall, and I'm not really sure how it could be handled properly:

Some classes and cards are certainly in need of notable buffs/some reworks (for example, Plague Death Knight is currently just totally non-functional), but I'm not really sure what's currently the thing that's overclocking Void Soul DH so hard that could be altered without screwing the deck (you would presumably have to walk back or alter at least one of the buffs given to either Voidscale or Scythe, but I dunno how you'd handle that). And, even then, Irida Sinseeker at least is really underperforming right now, and I'm not sure if that's because of her "draw her early or she's useless, and even then, you have to deal with Fatigue and your card draw being useless afterwards" design issue or mainly because the meta is just bad for her.

Really, it seems that the Rulebreakers in general are just super unbalanced with how the actual game plays itself (of course, they were intended to really shake things up, but they currently require aggressive balancing changes or certain reworks or *something* to actually feel good and relatively balanced). It seems that Rulebreakers like Godfrey are currently...I think good? (but Warlock is being held back by the meta being so aggressive and their low earlygame tempo making survival difficult, even if Godfrey's overdraw protection and Mana reduction are definitely solid), but ones like Millhouse and Aya are absolute ass and irrelevant despite having interesting and theoretically high-value effects.

The fact that a ton of cards got buffs in this patch was really good imo, but it seems that Void Soul DH's cards just got more efficient and easily impactful buffs (compared to the Plague DK cards getting...well, *nice* buffs, but not ones that compensate for their innate major issues like the deck's very bad tempo issues).

Face Hunter is currently just pretty silly because the Tripwires are really high value - especially with Shovel - and Confront also resets/kills Shovels to get the Tripwires spammed off more rapidly.

Also, if you get to go second in this current meta, statistics show that your win rate gets way worse, especially when it comes to Face Hunter. Probably because snowball and individual card impacts and the importance of staying on curve is just really huge right now, so a +1 card advantage and 1-time turn Mana skip from The Coin just...don't really help.

I guess the game needs more high-efficiency early-mid board clears and healing, or something? Because the game right now feels like it's essentially *systematically* favored towards Aggro/fast-paced Midrange playstyles, probably because the main board control or healing tools are just largely expensive or big tempo losses, or able to be bypassed with cards like Kayn Sunfury at the exact worst timings. Also, it feels like a lot of classes just...don't have very good Core sets?

What do you guys generally think about Varangian Guard's current state right now (not necessarily that she's weak or anything, but just when it comes to her general design)?

The recent Superior Block removal on her side dodge lights probably isn't that huge overall and was probably good to do (because she got a lot of accidental, really annoying blocks with that) - but I feel like she's pretty...uh, cookie cotter, right now?

I feel like she could really just use more spice than being more or less just an orange indicator spammer who walls and buffs in teamfights (I get that it's her identity - alongside being a Superior Block specialist - but I really feel like there's just stuff *missing* with her overall, even if she works well and is intuitive to play).

I'm wondering: what do you guys think about Arakure's head armor/hairstyle options and general fashion and design, so far?

I personally really like that they went hard on the tomboy rebel/"defiance of conventional fashion and feminine behavior" theme of the Sukeban subculture (even if it's perhaps not really "realistic" for For Honor's Medieval Era/Renaissance Era-esque primary inspirations, but I'm definitely not personally in the "For Honor should be/needs to be somewhat realistic" camp), though I've heard mixed opinions on her overall design so far from different comments. I dunno if that's mostly because of just finding her design slightly unpolished or because a lot of people just don't jive with her design themes, but I'm personally pro-Arakure (I like her hairstyles and armors overall: I'm especially fond of the Josuke pompadour™, but I like how striking and decidedly "brutish" a lot of her hairstyle options are by design - and I like that one bob hairstyle too, it's fun).

Though, I agree with the fairly common opinion about there just not being quite enough drastic variety and modification capabilities on her current armor sets compared to pretty diverse characters like Warmonger - which is a general issue with most newer characters, unfortunately (I personally think all of the past years' characters have very solid core designs and armors, but there should be more variety and expression overall so we can play around with the visuals and styles a bit more).

I'm a bit conflicted on whether to pull Lucilla or wait for her rerun or other characters (Hiyuki team is nearly optimal rn) - got any suggestions?

I like Lucilla quite a bit, and getting her would optimize Hiyuki's team (Hiyuki and Chisa are both S0R1) - and fully free up Lynae for Aemeath (Lynae is at S0R1 and Aemeath is at S0R0) - but I can't really afford to try to get Lucilla's R1 right now (while Lynae, like I said before, already has her own: so I dunno if Lucilla at R1 would be a big buff for Hiyuki over Lynae) and I feel like I'd want to save up for later characters to diversify my roster and stuff.

So - do you guys think it's a good idea for me to probably just get Lucilla right now and try to get Aemeath's R1 and Mornye later to complete both teams when Aemeath reruns and Mornye has her second rerun, or wait for Lucilla's rerun and other upcoming banners to see if I wanna go for Lucilla at that point or get other teams ready instead?

(For context: I currently have a 50/50 loss stored up, so the next character I pull is guaranteed. Also, I'm ignoring the Cyberpunk banners here outside of the free pulls because I'm getting Lucy set up on my alt account instead.)
