I wish that I didn't listen to so many one hit wonders

I mean, Bastille isn't really, but I also listen to The Rare Occasions, Stomach Book, AJR and a little bit of Cafune. I don't want to call Bastille a one hit wonder, and that isnt entirely fair, but these stats....

Daisy Chain Pigtails for 3 PCIe RX6950xt?

I bought a refurb ASRock Phantom Gaming RX6950xt (old card I know, but has a lot of weight and was a good price), along with a Newegg 7800x3d bundle that came with a free ASRock Pro 850B PSU. The unit is 850 watts, but it only comes with one single PCIe cable and one PCIe cable with two pigtail ends.

I've read multiple sources online saying that yes, using the pigtails is fine, along with a graphic that agrees. However, I have seen conflicting advice that says that I should use 3 separate cables to ensure that the massive transient spikes are handled.

The math I did independently goes like this: Each cable has a max draw of 150W. The board supplies 75w. Nominal draw is maximum 335w, which should theoretically work. However, I do a lot of game development and 3D modelling, and I'm worried the transient spikes would overload the cables. The spikes can be as much as 450w, which would put me way over.

My workload is a few light games, along with 3D printer slicing, game development using Unity and Unreal, 3D modelling using Blender, and the occasional render.

I know the optimal outcome would be to just bite the bullet and buy a PSU that can supply three cables, and then sell the ASRock unit. However, I don't want to spend another 80 bucks when I don't have to. Thoughts?

Facts to prove the feelings

Before I begin, I want to make something clear: this isn't an attack on women, feminism, or the struggles women face. Women deal with many real problems, both historically and today. I advocate for equal rights.

What frustrates me is the idea that discussing men's problems is somehow… hostile to women. On a personal note, I saw a post saying that men cannot experience rape because they don’t feel emotion. I don't believe that equality means only paying attention to the issues that affect women. If we care about fairness, we should be willing to acknowledge challenges wherever they exist.

This is not an attempt to compete over who has it worse. It's simply an attempt to point out some issues that affect men and boys.

I can’t just spit out some bullshit and not say anything, though. Let’s talk real facts.

*The definition of rape (U.K. 2019) requires penile penetration of the vagina, mouth or anus. The act of forced penetration falls under broader sexual assault, which can carry shorter sentences and lighter punishments. (This is based on A 2019 article linked, in the Uk. I apologize of this rule has changed since.) https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10508-018-1232-5

*Male nurses face challenges due to sex that often increases stress and decreases their ability to care for patients. (2024 study, findings published) https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38133995/

*Fathers only have an 18.3% chance of being awarded custody and are twice as more likely to have to pay child support, when not settled privately. (Secondary source compiled on other studies) https://www.divorcelawyersformen.com/blog/the-true-facts-of-child-custody-for-men/

*Domestic violence is an understudied area for men compared to women. Similarly, men seeking social services regarding domestic violence are less likely to receive care and are sometimes even viewed as the perpetrator. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6585830/

*Across the west, female school performance exceeds male. Several studies have found that boys often receive lower classroom grades relative to their standardized test performance than girls do. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11521978/

What im not saying is that women dont have problems. It’s just I see that some radical female groups are trying to place men in the position of the oppressed. Radical male groups, likewise, are also trying to keep (I say keep because denying male prejudice would be completely false) women oppressed.

All I want is to move forward together. Let’s stop misandry AND misogyny. What the hell will we ever achieve with a rat race to the top? I want women to be free. I want men to be free. I want gender to be somethjng that can be discussed without it turning into an argument of who has it worse. pleaee, just listen.

(I’ve tried to be as factual and non sexist as I can. if any of my reseach seems misinformed, please correct me., I apologize, it’s late at night where I’m at.)

This new catcalling thing pisses me the fuck off.

Women, we know we have disgusting members of male society that say lewd things about women. I don’t agree with it. I think it’s disgusting. But do all of us do it? Do a tenth of us?? Women all assume we come from the same cookie cutter and all of us want to say obscene things about women. NO.
The reality of it is, though, people are behind these people. They think that men need some kind of “punishment“ for catcalling. Hello?? I will be willing to bet that most men have never catcalled in their life. Would you punish all Germans for what the Nazis did?
The infuriating thing is though, is that it is automatically assumed that men feel no fear of being assualted sexually. Completely false. I would even go as far as to say that feminists are being hypocritical when they say that men aren’t afraid of catcalling. If we assume that men are the same as women (objectively true) then why should it matter what gender is getting demeaned?
I feel that the root of the problem stems deeper, though. Most men I’ve seen responding to this are like “I enjoy these compliments, actually.“ We have systematically been conditioned to accept any praise we get, because of how rare it is. You cannot convince me that that is not the case.
Please don’t take this the wrong way. I believe in gender equality. What I don’t believe in is revenge.

Anyway, that is my bullshit rent. Have fun and stay strong, boys 💕
