In the last week, EVERY fanfic I read had something related to hockey, and I really enjoy reading stories like that, but lately I want to read something different. I want to read about Ilya and Shane falling in love in different universes without the influence of hockey. It can be a fantasy AU, an office AU, a paranormal AU, a high school AU, it doesn't matter, I just want to disconnect a little from hockey.
(I know it's sad to take hockey away from Shane #SorryHollander).

So, I was thinking, and it would be interesting if Shane or Ilya were singular alphas. Honestly, I imagined an alpha x alpha where Shane is a singular alpha, but he doesn't know it, and if it weren't for the fact that he can sense his own pheromones, he would have thought he was a beta. He and Ilya are still hockey players, and Ilya is the type of alpha who doesn't care about a person's secondary gender as long as he likes their appearance or pheromones. The difficult part would be fitting in the moment when Shane starts to sense Ilya's pheromones, since in my head those idiots fell in love at first sight. If it were to follow the canon a bit, it would be when Ilya invites Shane to stay at his house, and it's at that moment that their senses align and they're in love with each other. And since this is Shane's first time sensing someone else's pheromones, he doesn't know how to react and freaks out. But if it were a story that followed another timeline, I don't know, but it would be really cool too.
