Need Help Buying a Used Trombone for a Middle School Student

Our son has played trombone for two years, and we have always just borrowed a trombone from his elementary school. His music teacher advised that he MIGHT have a trombone for him to use, but also suggested we consider either renting or purchasing a used one.

We checked with the local music store, and they recommended the Yamaha YSL-354, which retails for $1921, but which can be purchased for 40% off if we buy used.

I've checked on FB Marketplace and Offerup, and what I've been able to find locally thus far are:

(1) Holton TR602 ($165)

(2) King 606 ($450) - this was a brand and model that came up during my search for good beginner trombones.

(3) YSL-200AD ($300)

(4) YSL-354 ($525, but about an hour or so away from where we live)

Wanted to know what people thought about the above-choices, or if there are other student-level trombones we should consider (and which will not break the bank). If it helps, we live in Orange County, California.

Thank you!

Options for Speedmaster Reduced (3539.50) Bracelet

Hi all, I recently acquired a Speedmaster Reduced 3539.50, but am struggling to get a good fit, in part because of the absence of half-links, but mostly because the clasp only has two microadjust holes.

When I add a link, and place the pin on the inside microadjust hole, the bracelet is a tad too loose. When I remove the link, and move the pin to the outer microadjust hole, the bracelet is a tad too tight. Thus, for now, I've moved the watch to a sailcloth strap.

From what I am able to find, Uncle Straps sells bracelets for the Reduced, and it looks like the clasp has more microadjustment holes, which should provide a better fit. I just e-mailed them to see if they plan on selling clasps in the future that have on-the-fly microadjust, as they are about to release a Grand Seiko bracelet with microadjust.

However, wondering if there are any other options for quality bracelets that are compatible with the Reduced. Bonus if there is an option with on-the-fly microadjust.

If my best option is Uncle Straps, which bracelet do you all recommend? The Lincoln?

Thanks for your help!

KS225 Failure After Less Than a Year?

Installed two KS225 smart dimmer switches in December 2025 or January 2026. The dimmer switch is for our living room, and we opted for it because of the convenience of being able to control the lights remotely, and also because it gave us the option for setting it on a schedule (on the occasions that we are away from home for an extended period of time).

A few days ago (August 2026), I noticed that one of the switches was no longer working - did not respond to manual controls, and it did not respond to the reset or restart buttons. I also checked the breakers, and can confirm none of the breakers have tripped. I also pulled the switch out of the box, and can confirm that everything is still in place (including the neutral wire).

In other words, the switch looks to be dead.

Is this fairly common with these Kasa products? If so, are there suggestions for alternatives? Or should I just go with a non-smart dimmer switch, such as a Lutron, in order to save myself the trouble of having to replace this switch again in such a short period of time?

Questions About Setting a Cellular Apple Watch for a Minor Where Parents Do Not Own an iPhone

My sister-in-law recently purchased her child an Apple Watch (cellular version), but, from what I am reading, you need an iPhone 11 (or newer) to complete the initial setup.

Unfortunately, apart from an iPad, both she and my brother-in-law own Android phones. From what I have read, the iPad would not be able to manage the Apple Watch, as the iPad does not have the Watch app.

Given the foregoing, I had a few questions about potential workarounds

(1) Someone offered to let me borrow an iPhone 11 to do the initial setup, which I think should work just to get her going. However, it is my understanding that, without an iPhone managing the Family group, the functionality of the watch may be limited in certain ways, e.g., unable to update software, unable to remotely turn on schooltime, etc. Is that understanding correct?

Relatedly, since my brother-in-law's iPad does not have the Watch app, am I correct that he would not be able to control the Apple Watch without an iPhone?

(2) My in-laws live with a grandparent, who does own an iPhone. I assume we could just set the grandparent up as the family /guardian of the group, add the child to his family, and then have his iPhone manage the Watch? Of course, this would be a minor inconvenience to her parents, who would then need to borrow the grandparent's phone occasionally.

Relatedly, if the child is part of the grandfather's family group, is there still a way for her to share her location w/ her parents (via her dad's iPad?)

(3) Buy a used iPhone 11 (or newer) that my in-laws just keep on wifi mode. This is probably the easiest and most straightforward solution, but I am guessing they are hesitant to spend a few hundred dollars on such a device.

(4) I could add her to my family group (I have one slot left). However, just like solution # 2, it would be inconvenient to her parents.

Anything else I did not think of or consider? Any other suggestions?

Thank you all!

Any News on Release of S4 Video Doorbell?

As noted in my prior post, the storage on my T8202 is stuck at 98%+, such that it is no longer saving clips. Reformat and reboot did not help, and tech support was unable, or unwilling, to assist. Thus, we are now looking for a new doorbell. Perhaps against our better judgment, we intend to stick with Eufy.

However, I keep reading that the release of the S4 is just on the horizon, such that I wonder whether I should hold off. Thus, if anyone has heard anything about when the S4 might actually be released, I'd appreciate it if you'd share that on here.

Somewhat relatedly, what would be the most comparable doorbell to our T8202 (wired doorbell)? While we would prefer to have the 24/7 recording feature, I suppose we would be willing to forego it if we'd be gaining more useful features (for example, I have read that the S330 does not support 24/7 recording, but the C31 does).

We would prefer not buying any additional hardware, e.g., a homebase, and we are hoping we can just use our existing Eufy chime. However, I suspect that the chime from the T8202 is not compatible w/ the newer doorbells, and that, in some instances (like the C31), I will have to buy a new chime, or just rely on our Amazon Echo (which has not been consistent in providing doorbell alerts).

Thanks in advance for any input the community might be able to provide.

Eufy Video Doorbell - Memory Full, Doorbell Stuck to Mount, Surface Delamination

I have a wired Eufy Video Doorbell (model # T8202) that I purchased in August 2022. Recently, we noticed 98%+ of the storage was full, such that the doorbell could only save 2 or 3 clips before it started deleting video alerts.

We tried a reboot via the app, we rebooted by cutting off the power, we tried to format within the app, and we disabled the continuous recording feature. However, the problem has persisted.

From what I was able to find on the internet, it was suggested that we remove the doorbell from our app, physically remove the doorbell from the base mount so that we could press the sync button to factory reset, and then add the doorbell back to the app. From what I was able to find, this tended to fix the issue, i.e., it freed up the storage.

Unfortunately, the doorbell appears to be completely stuck to the base mount. I tried the included pin tool and a paper clip, but the doorbell does not budge. It does not matter if I try to pull out from the bottom or the top of the doorbell.

With that said, do we have any other options for performing a factory reset so that we can try to get our storage memory back? For example, can I just remove the doorbell from our app, and then add it back (I still have the box in my attic, and it is my understanding there is a QR code on the box that I scan to add the doorbell back to my app). Or will doing so not address the underlying problem?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Edit: this was the post where it was suggested a factory reset was needed: Eufy Video Doorbell 2K ( WIRED ) always with a full memory : r/EufyCam

Unrelatedly, has anyone experienced delamination to the surface of their video doorbells? We just noticed this recently, and we thought we forgot to remove factory plastic from the doorbell. Fortunately, the delamination isn't on the video camera itself, so, other than how it looks cosmetically (and apart from the other issues raised above), this issue has not affected the video itself.
