Book Contributions

Hi everyone!

I'm an MSc Psychology graduate that's suffered with OCD all my 45 years and am currently writing a book on the subject.

Rather than come at it from a self help or technical angle I'm writing about how it actually feels to live with OCD and how it affects us as sufferers.

Of course I'm comfortable writing about my own themes, obsessions and compulsions but I'm also looking for contributions from others that perhaps suffer from different ones.

I'm looking in particular for people that don't mind sharing their experiences with me whether they're light-hearted or heavy; funny or upsetting. Of course any contributions will be anonymous and identifying details changed or removed.

If you fancy helping out then please feel free to DM me.

Much love 💚

Best fairly casual restaurants in york for a first date?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a cool and casual restaurant for a first date in York?

Somewhere interesting but not expensive....

Much appreciated! 😊

Made with delicious healthy lard!

Homemade bread crumbed herby hash brown thingy before anyone asks.

All done in lard. Lovely, vitality giving lard.

OCD and Limerence

I'm 45 and have had OCD in one form or another all my life.

Recently I discovered the term and concept of limerence:

"Limerence is an involuntary state of intense, obsessive infatuation and attachment to another person (the "limerent object")."

This really does describe the situations I seem to get myself in to (including currently I think).

I can imagine it's possibly somewhat linked to my OCD and I do engage in some oc the same compulsions as with my OCD themes such as checking (for texts mainly,) and rumination.

However it doesn't FEEL like OCD if you know what I mean? I recognise it's obsessive and somewhat compulsive but somehow it's different!

Just wondering if anyone else has or has had similar experiences?
