Pregnant and scared!

Hi, my partner (30M) and I (29F)found out I was pregnant a few days ago. We had been trying for nearly a year.

We decided to stop trying and focus on getting married next year instead and I had come to terms with that. Only to find out in pregnant the month we stop trying! I was so so so shocked and still am. I thought I would be excited and happy but I actually feel a bit sad and like I had come to terms with a different plan for us.

I also feel stupid like I never really thought this through in the first place, both my partner and I have good jobs but we cannot afford the £1,800-£2,000 a month childcare fees in the south east of the uk. I hadn’t realised it would be that much! We aren’t entitled to any help either as we don’t get any benefits etc. We also don’t have family support near by.

I get 6 months full pay maternity leave and can’t afford to take unpaid leave so will go back to work but our baby’s due in April so I won’t have the 30 hours free childcare until April 2028 so 5-6 months of full funding myself.

I’m only 4 weeks pregnant so it’s so early but I’m genuinely having sleepless nights and panicking so much about this and that I’ve made a huge mistake not being more careful after we decided to wait. I don’t know if I can continue with this pregnancy and I’m scared to tell anyone…. I feel like I’m going crazy.

How are people coping with child care costs? It feels genuinely more doable if you give up your house/ mortgage and claim benefits then to work and have a baby.

I earn more than my partner so loosing my salary is not an option, we can’t live off one salary regardless as my fiancees salary alone only just covers our mortgage and bills etc. I just feel really stressed that I’ve been stupid.

Pregnant Chart!

I had the shock of my life this morning seeing my temperature spike so much so I did a text and it’s positive!! I’m pregnant ! Which is crazy as I don’t think we timed it as accurately this cycle and only had time to BD twice in the fertile window!
I wanted to share as I was desperate to see this kind of info when TTC. I know it’s so early and anything could happen but just seeing the positive after so many negatives is crazy!
I also had no symptoms at all, I didn’t think I was pregnant, 0 symptoms so if you’re feeling the same, don’t count yourself out!

TTC chart

Hey all, I wanted to share my chart for some feedback / advice. I am on CD 21 and have been ttc for about 5 months properly (I had my mirena IUD removed 9 months ago though).

I use NC with the oura ring but it doesn’t always get my ovulation day correct. For example in my chart here I think I actually ovulated on CD 13 but because my temp spiked NC didn’t capture it but I didn’t feel to well that night and he had hot weather so I don’t trust that. I had a positive OPK (I was testing LH all week just didn’t log) in the afternoon of CD12 and I usually can feel ovulation which I felt on CD 13. So using CD13 as my ovulation day today I would be 8 DPO.

My temps have not been super high like you see on here in positives cycles so I’m just worried that I’m out already haha I know that sounds crazy. I’ve read so many things of forums about people just “knowing” they’re pregnant.

I’m finding ttc is honestly taking its tole on me as much as I am trying to not let it.

It would be great to hear form people who didn’t notice anything crazy in their chart the month they conceived and also didn’t have any super obvious symptoms?

My cycle is a little shorter this month based on what NC is saying. Usually I am about 26/27/28 days but it’s saying 25 this time around, which I am guessing is from my temps?

Anyway, pearls of wisdom and hope are welcome and much needed! Feeling very deflated which I know is a bit delusional at 8dpo haha
