New 360 cameras surrounding statehouse

Just heads up to those that don't like to be surveilled, looks like the state has added mass monitoring cameras at the edge of the statehouse grounds. Each looks like it contains 6 cameras, not only pointing in towards the Capitol, but also out to the street.

I saw 2 on Jackson and Harrison sides I believe, lined up with s and n porticos. One in the middle on 10th and 8th I think, but I could be incorrect.

39m, midwest US

About half a year of occasional bumbling. How did I do?

I'm bi, so this is from both. Matches were usually 50/50 men to women. I've been snoozed for a while as I'm in a relationship now, but we're discussing opening, so I may delete and remake.

Was just curious how this compares to other men. I don't really discuss this shit with real life friends, so had no idea how i stack up other than the occasional time that I've discussed it with other bi men I've matched with.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Prize money needs to go up

USD is worth roughly half what it was 26 years ago at the beginning of Survivor... less if we're talking about purchasing power.

Over those 26 years, they've absolutely slashed production costs to keep season budgets for 2-50 roughly in line. It cost about $2m to shoot per episode early on, same thing now. And that's with a consistent location with built infrastructure, shorter seasons, and no wide angle helicopter-related Jeff stunts today.

The compensation for contestants has not gone up at all. The winner is still getting $1m. The first boot is still getting ~$3k. These people have significant time invested before they get to the island. They are taking time off work and traveling. That means childcare expenses, job loss, sometimes even losing housing for renters.

During the past 25 years we've seen the slow evaporation of all blue collar survivor players. Tbh, can't blame them. Blue collar doesn't mean poorer than white collar, but if you work with your hands it's much less likely you'll be able to still have a job when you return after months and months away.

If I lost my job to be on survivor (which i'd happily do!), I would be SCREWED. With losing benefits and how long job hunts take that could be easily be a 6-figure hit to anyone.

All this has made it so the only people with trust funds or extremely cushy jobs can possibly be on survivor.

And we're the losers, because white collar survivor just isn't as good. We miss those meaningful exchanges between people that have totally different life experiences. Heck, now they just don't even show people talking about work or personal lives, probably because it's all innane banter about PTO, marketing budget, and sales numbers.

The only way to get diversity back is to bring back the incentive. No more "I just want to leave my mark on survivor." If the money is life-changing, people play for the chance to change their lives.
