Shout out to Indie Ridge
So many people post their negative experiences. I wanted to post a positive one.
I bought a pair of boots from Indie Ridge about 3 months ago. I’d heard good things about them and figured it’d give them a shot. They were without a doubt the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. They looked nice to. I commute to work on my bike. I work in an office and if it weren’t for the shifter scuffs on my left boot I probably could have worn them for the entire workday. They are great to walk around in.
About a week ago as I was swapping out my boots for shoes at work I noticed that the heel on my left boot sole had started to separate from the upper. I was surprised since the boots seem incredibly well constructed. I jumped on their website to see what their warranty return policy is. They asked me to submit a picture of the damage and a brief description. The whole process took about five minutes. Then they said they’ll review my claim and let me know.
I was prepared to settle in for a big thing. Days for them to look at the claim, then a trip to the post office to ship my old boots back. Back and forth emails making sure that I didn’t cause the damage by something that would void the warranty, Shipping costs ect. All the crap other companies make you do to return something. (Looking at you Revzilla.)
When I checked my email the next day. They already had a new pair to replace mine on the way. No squabbling, no screwing around with return shipping, no jumping through hoops. Just a company that stands behind their product and doesn’t screw around when it comes to their warranty.
I will definitely be buying more from them in the future. If anybody is looking for a solid riding boot that you can walk around for extended periods of time and looks good enough wear into work or around town, I can’t recommend these enough.
Finally ran into to some stereotypical club guys.
After years of riding and just enjoying life. Last night I was out for a ride and running some errands. I was in the right hand lane on a four lane boulevard. While I was waiting at a red light a couple of MC guys on Harley’s with their vests on pulled up next to me. The rider closest to me started revving his engine and when I looked over he gave me this little this little self satisfied smirk. When the light finally turned green they tore out of there and I just went about my business.
I see club guys out riding all the time. I’ll drop a wave, some wave back some don’t but that was the first time I ever ran into any that nailed the stereotype. The only thing I could think about though after ward was the Harley Episode of South Park when the dude walks up to the urinal.
8 inch pullback risers for Sport Scout/101
Apologies if this has been asked already. I tired to search the sub before posting.
Can anybody who has installed the OEM 8 inch pullback risers for the 2025+ sport scout or 101 let me know if you needed to swap out the stock brake or clutch cables for longer ones?
Trying to figure out what this will cost all in, and whether or not I should do it myself or have a shop do it. If I need to swap out the brake cable it’ll go from being a garage project to a paid install.
Also if anybody has pics of their bike post install, I’d love to see how the pullbacks look. Thanks in advance for any help.
Dean Speed/Red Scout 101 Color match question
Question for anybody that has a Red Scout 101 and has ordered any of the red aftermarket accessories from dean speed. I have my eye on the shifter/brake pegs and the pistol grip mini floorboards from dean speed for my scout 101.
Has anybody ordered any of the red aluminum parts from Dean Speed and if so how do the reds line up? Trying to figure out if I should just go with black or if the red looks good.
Thanks in advance.
Bar end question for ‘26 Scout 101
I replaced the stock mirrors with some Rizoma mirrors that mount on inside the grips and not the bar ends. I am looking for some bar ends. Right now I just have a threaded opening on the end of the bars. Not having much luck finding anything I like. Does anybody have any bar end recommendations that fit well with a decent finish? I don’t want chrome, black always works, but I wouldn’t mind something that matches the red on the scout 101’s either.
First Indian. Put the first 50 miles on it riding her home from the dealership yesterday. I love this bike!
I am just about ready to pull the trigger on a Scout 101 or a Sport Scout with the Limited + Tech package.
I am leaning heavily towards the 101. The upgraded shocks, brakes, and headlight seem well worth the price bump between the two. If anybody has ridden either for a while, has any input on the whether or not the brakes, shocks, light, and seat upgrades are worth it, I would love to hear your input.
I’m primarily going to be using this bike for summer commutes into a city, mostly on surface streets, riding on country back roads and riding very short distances on the highway. (No more than 30 minutes.) Pot holes and non pristine roads are part of all that.
My next question relates to OEM upgrades. As a veteran I get 1,000 dollars (USD) of free upgrades or gear from Indian. What upgrades would you prioritize with a 1,000 dollar budget. I can go a little higher if a need to, but don’t want to go more than a few hundred bucks over the 1,000. If I went with the Sport Scout, I’d likely upgrade the stock headlight with the LED and upgrade the rear suspension to the piggyback shocks, which is why I am leaning towards the 101 which already comes with both. Any input from anyone who has put some money into their’s on what they regret or would do again would be appreciated.
I also have one specific seat question. Is the gunfighter seat on the 101 a significant upgrade from the Sport Scout? I have a nine year old daughter that wants to ride me. I was planning on adding 2 up options down the road because I won’t let her ride with me on a bike until I’ve put some time and miles on it and am totally familiar with it. Is the 2 up syndicate seat worth an immediate upgrade even for solo riding or am I better off spending the money elsewhere and adding an aftermarket seat later on?
TLDR: What OEM upgrades would you make with a thousand dollar budget? Anybody have any thoughts on why or why not the upgrades from the Sport Scout limited + tech to the 101 are worth the price bump.
