Snagged Levee this new harness from the thrift. We are spending the first half of the day going rockhounding together before picking kiddos up from school 🖤 It’s my last day off before I work for 2 weeks straight with no days off, so trying to enjoy our time :)

He’s roughed up, but I’d like some ID help with him, pretty pleaseeeee 🖤🖤

I colored Levee’s tail fur last night. I think I need to re-color it today to make it darker.

This is my fist time coloring one of my ESSAs in any way. What do yall think? ☺️ it’s supposed to be ombré blue (additional pic in the comments).

Found this Sasha at the same thrift I found chase at last week 🖤 I had literally just purchased her online earlier today. Managed to cancel my order in time. $3 instead of $38 sounds great to me :)

Her tag says 12/2017. So any gender neutral Sagittarius/capricorn inspired names would be lovely

Picked up some collars for my ESSAs yesterday at a local thrift (all profits from there go to a local animal rescue).

Got Levee a mushroom collar and I think the color is so perfect on him 🥹 I’ll add a better pic in comments of the pattern 🖤

I found this sweet Douglas bass pro shops Chase plush (year 2000) at a local thrift store yesterday. I had never seen the chase plush irl and honestly did not get the hype at all. I’m usually a wolf plush kinda person. I got him a nice bath and brushing- I am totally smitten with him now 🥺 idk what it is about him.

Anyway- I think I wanna name him Zenith, but not totally sold on that. Does anyone have any name suggestions? He was manufactured in October, so I’ve deemed him a scorpio, like me 😅

Went to the thrift store today and spotted a chase- I haven’t seen him in person yet and honestly didn’t understand the hype up until I did. He is adorable! I snagged him for $1.99 ☺️☺️☺️

Now it’s time to get him a good bath- he will be washed when I get home!

This is my boy, James Taylor. Some of y’all may remember the post I made asking for advice- I had found him dying in a store cup a week ago and decided to take him home.

He went straight in to my hosptial tank- it took him about 5 days to start really acting better, but here he is now :) I’m really happy I gave this boy a chance 🖤

Here’s my baby Styx 🖤 I got her at the end of February this year. Just wanted to share her color change ☺️ first picture is her the day I got her and second one is from a few days ago.

I tried posting this in the betta clinic yesterday without much help.

I went to petco on Sunday and saw this sad little boy in a cup. Severely clamped fins, not moving too much, occasionally rolling on to his side. I took him home to help him and I know it doesn’t do anything for the disgusting state of the betta market currently. But I could not leave him there to die in that tiny cup alone.

I already had a hospital tank setup (2.5g), so I put him in there and started treatment for swim bladder with Epsom salt baths and tannins added to the water. Water temp @80. There are live plants, floaters, and several places for him to rest.

He has no notable pineconing, but he does have some tiny holes present in his face and he is severely emaciated. I have treated bloat a few times in betta and dropsy in a guppy successfully. But this kinda has me stumped. I assume he is extremely weak from how thin he is and he only swims to move spots in the tank. Otherwise, he remains stationary and floating with clamped fins. He no longer rolls to his side, at least.

I’m not sure if my attempts will be successful, but if anyone has suggestions, please tell me. I am kinda at a loss and already love him very much after 2 days. I understand I got myself in to this situation of potential heartbreak.

Hi friends!

I went in to a petco today and saw this miserable little being and could not leave him there to die.

Don’t come for me- I know it’s not ideal. But I was tearing up looking at him and could not leave him behind.

I set him up in my hosptial tank (2.5 gallon) for the time being and started with an Epsom salt bath after he had acclimated and rested for a few hours. Have not tried to feed him yet, as he is occasionally floating up on to his side. His stomach doesn’t appear bloated and he’s quite emaciated. All of his fins have been clamped since I saw him in the shop.

A few questions- does anyone know what these holes are on his face? My other betta do not have them (that I can see). I know I’ve seen posts about this before, but can’t seem to find them currently.
Also, what can I do to make him more comfortable? I just made some tannin soup and will be adding a bit to his water, as well as some of the leaves when it’s cooled down. I have treated 3 cases of swim bladder successfully in the past with bettas presenting for it in LFS and such. As well as one successfully treated case of dropsy in a guppy. But I’m at a bit of a loss with this one, as I can’t tell exactly what is going on with him. Perhaps he’s just extremely weak from being neglected in the store cup?
