Nintendo licensed "Happy Birthday" for TL:LtD‽

Today was my first Mii birthday, and I was shocked at the news report with actual "Happy Birthday". Doesn't that cost a fortune? I wonder how much they paid for every player to hear it up to 70 times a year...

Microaggressions from One's Birth Ethnicity

My Uber driver( in my American home city, in the Northeast) doesn't even know his counting numbers to 9 in English. Thank goodness for Sesame Street so I could tell him "tres cinqo cuat[ro] cinqo". I used Google to look up "I was adopted by white people and my Spanish isn't very good." but he still tried to be conversational while we were in traffic.

Wondering now, what else have people in this sub experienced, other than direct criticism about not knowing your roots, because people got your name or saw your face and expected you to be like them?

P.S.: Don't blame my white parents, they at least gave me my name and tried to interest me in Spanish when I was learning to read English.

Am I the only one populating my island with family and friends?

Sometimes I feel like nobody else is doing this, but I find it very relaxing and therapeutic to see and check in with late loved ones whom I miss and people I'm not talking to. My grandparents are so in love and it's adorable. My cousin( a flight paramedic who died in a helicopter crash out west in 2014) lives with my Mii and she calls us jerkface, and refers to him as "my stupid cousin". My ex-bf is a huge nerd with weird fetishes. I actually don't have any fictional characters. Originally I was going to start a separate island with them but I spend so much time playing just my main island that I dunno if I will anymore.

Mango juice my ass.

So I got tired of seeing that tip about tomato juice and filters, and decided to see if it was true, but there's something gnarly in this mango juice.

Dirty sock?

The very first item I ever got was a dirty sock. I eventually gave it to the Mii of my ex because he's into smelly socks & shoes. But I haven't gotten a dirty sock since! Did I give him a rare treasure unwittingly?
