Can shocks be changed for a more comfortable ride?

This is probably a foolish question...

I love my c40 (2022 C40 Ultimate) but the harsh suspension can get bothersome on broken midwest pavement to the point that my wife is now complaining - and she would probably have me drive an Ioniq 5 to match her Sante Fe - eh, no.. The roads where I live are truly horrible and I should have bought an off-roader to handle our roads!

Anyway.. I thinking of changing tires to Hookook Ion Evo AS tires to aid in comfort and I went down the rabbit hole of looking at 18" rims or 19" but most rims look like garbage and then there is that will it, won't it fit question?

So, I'm wondering if anyone has ever contemplated replacing the shocks with something more tunable to try to get a better ride feel? I'm not sure if that is even possible with this car but I ask the question as I did a complete suspension change out on my over-landing Sprinter van (but that was a whole different proposition).

Is this a fools game? Thoughts?

Get back to UI ver 4.2.13?

I hate the 5.x.x UI. I actually like the dashboard change but the center screen is a disaster and my car gets more and more bugs with every update.

The latest one introduced in 5.0.5 and not fixed in 5.1.17 is random loosing of all audio (warning notifications, indicator clicks, infotainment- everything) until the system is rebooted.

Also my right side mirror will randomly change position upon getting in the car and often my system will have crashed and all hvac controls will be on low setting - though the hvac crash might be fixed in 5.1.17.

I’d love to go back to version 4.?? Is there anyway to go back in software levels?

I suspect no, but I’m throwing the question out there.

What really grates me is that I absolutely loved the car when I got it. The UI was actually fast and responsive. Google voice worked well. Everything was delightful. Then over 2 years, Volvo keeps charging it and it gets worse and worse. I’m at the point where I probably would not buy another Volvo with this UI. Absolute disaster.

Lauf eElja (AMA - dirt off)

I recently got a Lauf eElja. My bike is the top of the line USA model. Not much info about these out there at the moment as it’s only been available a few weeks.

I’ve now got 5 rides on mine, over 81 miles and 5000 ft - I live in the flatlands of SE Wisconsin where hills are few and far between. So this is more of a XC woodland single track machine for me.

Anyway, if you’re interested in knowing more about the bike, the pros and cons, I found so far, along with my range that I’ve been determining, just ask me.

This is not an official AMA but I’ll answer any question, no matter how dumb.

So I got an email from Volvo asking for feedback on my thoughts on their latest UI.

My answers were scathing. The update behind the steering wheel nice. Everything in the center dash is terrible. Also, my system appears to crash and reboot every other drive now.

I hope everyone tells Volvo what a disaster the new center dash is.
