Worst neighbors ever invading privacy

I’m spiraling about my ‘new’ neighbors & feel like there must be something I can do to get control back even though I realistically know there’s nothing.

I live in an extremely rural community, this is by choice because I couldn’t handle the noise, people, or demands of large cities anymore. I’m in a village in the Western US of about 150 people. Most people who are born & raised here are ranchers or involved with forestry & so am I. Then Covid hit & my neighbor decided to sell his vacant land right next door (I’m about 1 mile from any neighbors that have a house they live in and it was snapped up fast during Covid for a stupid amount of money. My husband and I went to meet the new neighbors and immediately they made me feel uncomfortable.

Some of the things that have done: when we met them for the first time, the first thing the wife started telling me about was her fertility issues, like in-depth and wouldn’t stop. The husband started talking about how he wanted to build a 10,000sf house right in front of ours (for context we have a 1890’s 900sf old house) and then said maybe they would build a liquor store or charging station. He also said maybe they would subdivide the land 3 more times to make money and get more people out here. Then the wife informed me she works with disabled kids that are autistic and she would like to put a kids camp here for them but maybe also a wellness retreat or rock climbing venue. After this first visit I went home and started throwing things and completely melted down. I haven’t done this in years and I was ashamed of my reaction. After this they would occasionally just stop by during my evenings unwinding and it felt like they wouldn’t leave me alone. The worst was at a Christmas village community potluck where they cornered me and I started rocking a bit because I felt so trapped and overwhelmed. I told my husband I didn’t want to talk to them anymore because I didn’t know what to believe and they upset me so badly and he agreed to be the contact point. My lovely village neighbors said oh don’t worry, they’ll never build a house there, a lot of people dream about it but don’t end up finding anyone to do the work.

Fast forward to last year: they show up in a red cyber truck, start surveying the land for the house. And last week they broke ground. It’s huge. Minimum 7,000sf. But to be honest I had years to get used to the idea and I had come to terms with it. But then I saw the plans for the house. It has a huge tower that will look over my house. Frankly I think it looks like a prison watch tower. It has me spiraling again. I feel like they are invading my safe space and forcing themselves on me no matter what I do and this tower is so invasive to my privacy. I don’t know how to feel like I have control over my privacy and home anymore and I keep panicking trying to think of some way to get them to stop. Do I write a letter and explain? Or will that just make things worse? I know the wife doesn’t really like this place, it’s her husband’s weird western ranch dream.

I just feel so sad and angry.

Is this lump concerning?

I’m looking at this dairy ewe and I was wondering if more seasoned sheep owners could tell me what they think about the slight lump on the left side of the udder? No mastitis but could it be scar tissue from a previous infection? Because she’s a dairy ewe, could it be a vein? Just would like to hear what others think about it. Thanks for your help!

Would it be worth it to join as a HO?

Hi all, I’m curious whether it would be worth it for me to join as a HO with my particular set up. I haven’t had a vacation with my husband in 8 years because I haven’t found anyone I can rely on to look after my animals.

We live in a 1000sf adobe house in a tiny village of 150 people. It’s a gorgeous place where the plains meet the mountains and 40,000 acres of state land is right up the road.

We own 11 acres which has a stream running through it year round. Amazing dark skies and hiking right out the door.

We have one cat that is fed with an automatic feeder and is a lump that sleeps 23 hours a day and loves laps. He’s part of the furniture and requires a little love and a litter box change once a week.

We have 3 huge dogs that guard our animals. They require being fed 2x a day and if it’s summer, moving across the road with the herd where they graze everyday. They are very large but very sweet and enjoy attention but live outside. They have to be watched closely when crossing the street because they see cars as dangerous and will run after them.

I have a small flerd (flock and herd) of 3 sheep and 6 goats (currently). This is where I’m not sure if our household would be a good fit for TH. If we have someone staying in the summer, they would have to be moved across the road 2x a day to their grazing pasture. In winter they are hayed in the yard and let out to the next door pasture for variety. They are put up in night pens in the yard every evening and then let out and moved or hayed in the morning. The night pens are an extra protection from mountain lions and bears and is very much needed.

Our home also comes with a few little quirks. We only heat with wood and a wood burning stove, so someone would have to be capable of doing that without setting the chimney on fire. We have grid electricity and internet. Our water is from rainwater catchment but we have a fully plumbed system, just have to be a little easy on the usage.

We would leave a car for people to use as I see that many sitters don’t have transportation and we’re about 50 mins from a grocery store.

Sorry for the long post, but does our animal and house situation seem like something sitters might go for or does it seem like I’m asking too much?

Female Scandinavian singer from 2008/09?

I’m trying to remember the name of a Scandinavian female singer from around 2000s- 2010s. She was bleach blond (of course) and pretty tall. Her music was very pop.

One of her music videos had her riding a 4 wheeler, popping a wheelie and there were other riders with her down a road and in a warehouse with a lot of colors. I unfortunately only have vague memories of melodies of her songs.

She wasn’t one of the bigger names like Lykki Li, Larsson, Mø, Robyn, ect.

If anyone thinks they knows who I’m talking about, I’d really appreciate suggestions.

Edit: just figured it out!! Oh Land- Renaissance!
