I've recently accepted and started a new internship position (non-government), but before this, I was applying to several Pathways internships. I have had a couple reach out and ask to interview me. I have a relative who works for the government, and she said I should do them because it means I'll get on the shortlist for future government jobs, since recruiters will see that I've already interviewed for a government position.

My question is: Is this true? Will completing the interviews help me get on the shortlist in the future?

As I mentioned, I am already doing another internship, which is 8-5, so I would have to take time out of my lunch break if I really wanted to do them, something I'd rather not do. So, I'd like to know if there's any benefit aside from interview practice.

My main resume is called FirstName_LastName_Resume.pdf. I have curated resumes for other fields though like law and such. Should I name them FirstName_LastName_Law.pdf or FirstName_LastName_Resume2.pdf, or something like that?

I want to make it easy for me to keep them organized but I'm worried if they see that I'm specifying the field they may think I'm not actually too interested in the field. Am I overthinking it?
