It makes me upset to hear the news of no physical copies in 2028 & beyond.

I’ve been a longtime gamer, I was an Xbox player for a long time but decided to upgrade my XSS to a PS5 around 3 years ago. I love the console & being able to experience exclusive games like Spiderman. I’m 28 now & have been playing quite regularly since I was 12 years or so. There was nothing better than picking up a brand new game that you’re excited for, & I think it’s terrible Sony is about to take that option away.

I haven’t been a strictly physical copy person but I’ve made the choice that I’m going to do my part in showing my displeasure in this decision, even if I’m only one person.

I hope there’s a chance Sony reverses this decision & gives gamers the options for the physical versions, even if that means manufacturing much less of them.

Going forward I’m committing to only buying physical games & just cancelled my PS Plus Premium account with the news today. It’s only physical copies for me from this point on as long as possible.

Fingers crossed Sony makes the right decision & lets gamers own their games which I know means a lot to many people, even if it isn’t everybody’s choice for a variety of reasons.

I’ve been seeing lots of people talk about this new system & the “inflation” issue, so I figured I’d make a thread about it.

Pros:

- SR is rewarded for in-game performance, not hidden metrics

-You play great & go off, you get lots of SR which makes good wins feel rewarding

- Solo Q is heavily improved with losses being less punishing

- No more being hardstuck, if you win consistently in your rank then you will move up

Cons:

- Hidden MMR still existing in the game which leads to more “inflated” ranks

- Higher ranks feeling slightly less rewarding to earn

…that’s about it?

Overall, I think the new SR system is a huge step in the right direction! It’s much better than the previous system even if it isn’t perfect. If Treyarch is able to adjust it by completely removing hidden MMR from then I think it’d be nearly perfect. Ranks should be a pure measure of skill & winning.

I think Mike Babcock is a fantastic hire for the Oilers, & here’s why I believe that (it’s okay to disagree):

- Undoubtedly a great hockey mind & smart person.

- He’s had success at every level, from CIS to NHL to every international level.

- A great coaching tree, he’s helped his assistants advance their careers & become head coaches.

- He’s used to pressure filled markets/situations (DET-TOR-Canada).

- He holds players accountable & knows how to implement systems efficiently.

- McDavid & Draisaitl both clearly want him because they think his hockey knowledge + experience can help the team get to the goal of winning the Stanley Cup.

Many people like to point out that he hasn’t won a playoff series since 12-13, but there is important context to that. Detroit was a much older team at the end of his tenure there + Toronto was extremely young & not ready to win when he was there.

He turned the Leafs into a perennial playoff contender & I’d say it’s actually miraculous the Leafs got to 7 games against strong Boston teams 2 years in a row.

Is he a perfect person? No, but Oilers fans should also remember that some of the greatest coaches in hockey history were considered hardasses who pushed their players to the max. (Scotty Bowman was banned from Penguins practices because the players disliked how hard he was on them at times. His players stated they hated him 364 days a year & only liked him on the 365th when they collected their Championship ring). Iron Mike Keenan is another example, he was also someone who stepped over the line at times but was a great hockey coach at the end of the day.

Here’s to a positive outlook & believing in Mike Babcock to return the Oilers to glory! Cheers.

2/3 of my past games (both wins) have instantly glitched out of the lobby after winning both games, one being a very close Sake & a blowout HP on Scar.

I was in a 4 stack for both games & all the players on my team got hit with either a suspension or SR loss for the game’s error.

GG’s Activision, I love CoD as a franchise but the amount of bullshit the customers have to put up with is crazy.
