Rio Nakata says the senior level has changed his perspective on figure skating - via Deep Edge Plus

“The Japanese skater revealed that attending Japan's senior national team training camp made him realize that difficult jumps alone are no longer enough.

‘From now on, I want to focus the most on my spins and skating skills.’

Nakata explained that once skaters reach the senior level, many athletes can perform the same jumps. Because of that, he wants to stand out through the quality of his skating, spins, and overall performance.

Sasha Trusova on Training Process: "I already understand that the result will come, just a little later."

Sasha talked about her recent training via Telegram update. It's nice to see how her attitude has shifted with age and raising a family! Her quote is below:

“I’m running through my programs again, the short program and the free skate with the elements. Since I’d gotten out of the habit of this process, there have been some challenges. One day everything works out, and the next day nothing works at all. Even though in those moments it feels like nothing is coming together, I already understand that the result will come, just a little later.

My attitude toward the training process as a whole has changed with age and become much calmer. At the same time, I’m now much more attentive to recovery too. Age, after all. 😁

And choreography has also returned to my training schedule. So I’m working in a busy but steady rhythm. Balance.”

Sofia Dzepka 4T (side by side with Ilya Malyshev)

I know the recent excitement among Russian skaters is about Sasha and Kamila’s return, but I do not play about Sofia Dzepka. I’m excited to see her next season especially after her beautiful programs and big win last season!
