I did not yet find a notch app for macOS that I could customize. So I built NotchDock. It has multiple modules for:

• 🏆 Sports Live Updates
• 📈 Stocks Tracker
• 📊 Match Stats

• 🎵 Media Controller

1. The notchView can be customized: You can switch between stocks every 5 seconds. eg. Calendar app will show upcoming meetings (right when you need them) and link to join.
2. You can choose which widgets to show in the app: Show sports updates when your favorite team is playing.
3. Switch between multiple apps very quickly and customize what to show: be it a quick note, or a ToDo list, or a stock/index Portfolio list.
4. Smart notifications: When your favorite team score (eg. Argentina scores a goal in WC), it shows a quick notification for 5 seconds with match stats.

There are plenty of menu bar apps and desktop widgets out there, but most of them suffer from the same issue: visual noise. They’re always on, constantly shifting, or pulling your attention when you’re trying to focus.

With NotchDock, the philosophy is simple: zero-distraction minimalism. It behaves like a native hardware element—quiet, tucked away, and only revealing itself when something actually matters.

Here’s how the “only when needed” behavior works across modules:
You can chose which apps you want in your dock. (More apps planned in the roadmap)

1. 🏀 Live Sports Nudges Pin a live game (NBA, NFL, Premier League, etc.) and it sits compactly in the notch. The moment a team scores, NotchDock slides open for 5 seconds to show the updated score and play, then immediately tucks back in. No constant blinking, no noise.
2. 📈 Stocks (Smart Ticks) Track your portfolio or favorite tickers (AAPL, TSLA, NVDA, etc.) in a compact view. Instead of streaming every price movement, NotchDock only expands on meaningful changes—like sharp moves, threshold alerts, or market open/close. You get the signal, not the noise.
3. 🎵 Music Controller (Self-Hiding) While music is playing, a clean visualizer and album art sit beside the notch. Pause your music, and it knows to disappear—after a short timeout (e.g., 2 minutes), it fully hides, restoring a clean screen.
4. ⏱️ Focus Timer (Milestone Nudges) Start a Pomodoro or focus session and the timer stays compact. Instead of watching seconds tick away, NotchDock briefly expands at key milestones (like 5 minutes remaining), then disappears again until the session ends.
5. 📅 Meeting Navigator Syncs with macOS Calendar/Reminders without clutter. You set a threshold (e.g., 15 minutes), and only then does a countdown appear. The “Join Meeting” button (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams) slides in just 10 minutes before the call—right when you need it.
6. 📋 To-Do Lists & 🗒️ Snippets (100% Silent) No badges, no counters, no interruptions. Tasks and snippets stay completely invisible in compact mode. They only appear when you intentionally hover over the notch to expand.

How it behaves day-to-day:

• Idle / Compact State: Fully hidden or gently rotating between pinned items (like a stock ticker or calendar countdown) every ~15 seconds.
• Hover to Expand: Activation is limited strictly to the physical notch width, so no accidental triggers. A smooth downward expansion reveals details.
• Minimize to Menu Bar: Prefer a clean notch? Collapse everything into a tiny menu bar icon.
• Privacy / Local First: Runs client-side, integrates with Apple APIs, and stores data locally—no unnecessary cloud calls.
