If you're qualified to tutor math courses like:
do you get paid a higher hourly rate for being able to tutor those courses, or is the pay the same regardless of which classes you can tutor?
Also, if you're able to tutor more classes overall, does that increase your pay, or does it just make you eligible for more tutoring hours?
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's worked as a UTA math tutor. Thanks!
Looking to buy rigorous and hard algebra 1, 2, and college algebra books with actual hard questions not to learn but just to do problems if anyone has recomendations let me know please and thank you
so basically when i was in highschool i was insanely good at algebra and could do lots of problems in my head, but then i took 2 years off school and my algebra skills were not good at all i even forgot basic pre-algebra stuff, and i didn't feel like relearning algebra so i skipped straight to learning trigonometry and only learned the algebra needed to learn trig and then took pre-calculus and Calculus 1 in the same semester and got an A because mastering trig i could focus on the algebra part of calculus 1, this was at an acreddited university and then i took calc 2 and got an A but now i am rethinking before taking calc 3, linear algebra, and proofs this semester if i should take the semester off and teach myself all of algebra before spring semester and take calc 3 and linear algebra and proofs in the spring, my worry is not having the algebraic knowledge for proofs courses or abstract algebra 1 course anything will help

or do i pursue a math masters in applied math, or data science?

would love to receive any help i can get thank you.
I'm trying to decide between two undergraduate mathematics degrees at my university and would appreciate advice from people who have been through graduate math programs.
I'm interested in both pure and applied mathematics, and after my bachelor's I may pursue an M.S. in Applied Mathematics (although I'm also keeping Pure Mathematics open as an option).
The two bachelor's programs are:
The Applied Mathematics M.S. at my university has two required foundation courses:
The rest of the concentration (Applied Mathematics I & II, ODEs, Applied PDEs, etc.) only lists those graduate foundation courses as prerequisites.
My question is:
Would a Pure Mathematics bachelor's still prepare me well for an Applied Mathematics master's, or would I be at a significant disadvantage compared to someone who completed the Industrial & Applied Mathematics bachelor's?
The Pure Mathematics degree has 4 additional upper-level math electives (12 more credit hours), but it doesn't require courses like Probability, Stochastic Models, PDEs, or Operations Research.
Has anyone here gone from a Pure Mathematics bachelor's into an Applied Mathematics graduate program? If so, did you feel well prepared?
I'd especially appreciate input from graduate students, professors, or anyone who's been involved with admissions. Thanks!
Does UTA let student tutors tutor more than one class?, for example if next summer i would like to tutor calc 1 ,2, and 3 would they allow that?
If i get CalcWorkshop Membership, are the videos downloadable?
I have no chemistry knowledge, so I am going to take CHEM-1400, But my worry is that, is Highschool chemistry assumed as prior knowledge for this course, as I haven't taken a chemistry class nor remember anything from highschool chemistry in like 5 years, any help would be nice
Why is there 40 sections for MATH-1426 (Calc 1), but only 8 for MATH-2326(Calc 3)???, are they not going to add more sections for calc 3?
