Idle issue

Looking for advice from those with some more experience. Tried running my trx 2.5 with an o.s. 11k carb today. For the life of me, could not get the truck to stay running without the glow igniter hooked up to the plug. I managed to get the truck idling great with the igniter hooked up, had a nice quick smooth acceleration to high rpm with nice trail of smoke, and came back down to a consistent idle quickly after releasing the throttle. But despite all of that, the minute I disconnected the igniter, the truck stalled.

I figured it was a glow plug issue, so swapped in a brand new one. Same exact problem. I am by no means proficient with nitro. Been trying to teach myself how to tune, but could use some help with this.

Arrma warranty

Well this sucks. Bought the new arrma talion 6s exb when it came out at the end of April. Haven't had much time to drive it, so I only have 21 packs through it (mostly 6s, but some 4s). Long story short, 99% sure motor blew today. Just suddenly lost power at the beginning of a pack. Powered it on and off multiple times and same thing. Truck just cogs horribly when giving it throttle, but doesnt go anywhere. Im mostly a street basher and set up little courses on the lot I run at. Out of the box gearing.

What have people's experiences been with the arrma warranty? Online seems to suggest it only covering defective parts out of the box. I have a feeling they would tell me to figuratively screw myself since I have 21 packs through it.

Nitro Revo

Figured I would share these here as I just got done doing some maintenance on the one on the left. Two nitro revos. The one on the left is a revo 3.3 with some mods and a platinum body that I use fairly regularly (without that body and wheel combo). The one on the right is a genuine 2008 platinum edition brand new never ran. I got it from someone who used to work at traxxas as part of the revo development team. Word is this particular platinum was one of the first shipment that everyone at traxxas who worked on the project got for free. Love the nitro revo. Was my first hobby grade back in 2012 (though it probably shouldn't have been).

Talion 6s EXB Steering issue.

Anybody have a fix for the horrible out of the box slack in the steering of the new talion? I recognize there needs to be a little bit of play, but this is the most i have ever seen on any truck. It is so bad that even the upper control arm moves pretty significantly, and there is no more room to add shims. This seems to be a common problem because I've seen videos of people endorsing the same concern, but I haven't found one with a solution yet.

The steering servo also seems to just randomly lock up. This even occurs when the truck is off and I try and move the wheels manually. Obviously the solution is to upgrade the servo (im planning on the perfect pass monster), but was just wondering if that was also a problem people were seeing out of the box with the talion.

I am finally trying to break out of the RTR battery ecosystems (specifically traxxas) and convert to quality universal batteries and chargers that I can use for all my trucks. I really dont know where to begin. I run mostly 8s and 6s rigs and am looking for a battery brand/charger that I can use for everything.

I also know there is a lot of discussion on what kinds of connectors to use. What connectors would be a good option to go with? Also regarding connectors, do specific chargers only accept specific types of battery connectors?

I recognize many of these questions probably sound stupid and/or obvious, but I've only really used traxxas batteries/chargers and thus don't have much knowledge beyond that. I'm tired of traxxas and their proprietary bullshit. I dont ever want to have to buy traxxas batteries or chargers again. I know how to solder, so switching connectors on my ESCs won't be an issue. Any and all help would be appreciated.
