Where do adults around Yonge & Eglinton go for swimming/tennis?

So I’m looking for a good indoor swimming pool near Yonge & Eglinton to start swimming for exercise, but I swear there is no single good swimming pool around me.

Whenever I search, all I can find are children’s swimming schools and lessons. Do adults just… not go swimming??

I looked at the community centres around me, but a lot of them have Google reviews complaining about how filthy/unclean the pools are. Personally, I’d rather pay for a private gym or membership if it means getting access to a clean pool, but I’m really struggling to find any around this area.

Also, I wanted to start playing tennis as a sport, but I’m having the exact same problem. I can find courts, but I can’t seem to find any actual tennis courses/classes for adults.

Am I missing something?? Where do adults actually go for swimming and tennis?

My cat is suddenly scared and refused to eat

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone has experienced something similar because we’re really worried and don’t know what to do.

Our 12-year-old neutered male cat has always been healthy. He’s a little overweight, but he’s never had any major medical problems. He has always had a good appetite, drinks plenty of water, uses his litter box normally, and has always been a relaxed, happy cat.

A few days ago, everything changed very suddenly.
He became extremely scared for what seems like no reason. He started hiding in quiet places around the house and refused to come out. He wouldn’t go to his food or water on his own, and he wouldn’t even go to his usual litter box.

The only way he would eat was if my mom brought the food directly to him. The same with the litter box if she gently picked him up and placed him in it, he would pee normally. After that, he would immediately go back into hiding.
One thing that really worried us is that he even became scared of my mom, who has cared for him his entire life. He’s never reacted that way before.
We took him to the vet twice. They performed a physical examination, checked his mouth, felt his body for pain or swelling, and ran blood tests. Everything came back normal. They also couldn’t find any obvious signs of pain. When we touch or gently press different parts of his body at home, he doesn’t cry out or react like it hurts.
The vet gave him fluids/vitamins (and possibly something to help him relax). After we got home, he seemed almost completely back to normal. His pupils returned to normal size, he groomed himself, jumped onto the bed, and acted like his usual self.
But about an hour later, he suddenly became frightened again, went under the bed, and has now stayed there for around 8 hours.

A few more details:
His bloodwork was normal.
He walks normally when he does come out.
He isn’t stumbling or losing his balance.
He grooms himself when he feels better.
During these episodes his pupils become very large, and he seems terrified rather than sleepy or confused.

He’s alert and aware of what’s happening around him while hiding.

We’re at a loss. Has anyone experienced something like this? Could this be related to pain that isn’t obvious, vision problems, high blood pressure, a neurological issue, or something else that wouldn’t show up on routine bloodwork?

Any ideas or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. We’re really worried about him and just want to figure out what’s causing these episodes.

Has anyone stayed with a good person even though something felt missing? '24F' me with '24M'

'24F' and my partner '24F' have been together for almost 4 years. For pretty much the whole relationship, I’ve had this feeling in the back of my mind that I’m “better” than him and could probably do better, but somehow I always end up staying.

He’s genuinely kind and gentle, but he’s terrible with timing and reliability. For example, he’ll tell me he’s coming to my place at 4 p.m., so I’ll get dressed up and cook for him in advance, and then he’ll show up around 7.
This hasn’t happened just once,it’s something that’s happened a lot over the years and makes me feel miserable!!!
I also make more money than he does, but
we split everything 50/50, even our dates. I’m a better cook and I do more of the cleaning.

And this isn’t just me hyping myself up,even our friends and family have always said I’m much more attractive than he is. My education is also much higher.

I always thought his kindness, loyalty, and the attention he gave me would make up for all of that, but lately it doesn’t feel like enough anymore.

The thing is, we immigrated together, so I don’t really have any friends or family here. I’m scared that if I leave, I’ll regret it because he’s basically the only person I have.

At the same time, I keep wondering if I’m staying because I actually want to be with him or because I’m afraid of being alone.

Has anyone else been in a relationship where your partner is a good person, but you still felt like you weren’t compatible anymore? How did you know whether it was time to leave or if you were taking the good parts for granted?
