Just bought a 2017 Passat 1.8t with 125k for my kid as a 1st car.
Its mint condition runs awesome and was looked after.
Starting to wonder if it was a bad choice repair wise.
What issues can I expect in the next 50k? Should I dump it for someone else?
For starters we live in Southern Ontario. My 18 year old finished high school a year ago. His education was based around being a mechanic and he completed the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program. Has several co-op terms that counted as credits and can perform basic tasks like oil and tire changes. He also has semester 1 finished in the Automotive Technician program from Mohawk College.
In the past year he has worked a total of 1 month at 3 different employers that fire him after a week. Lack of work is always the reason.
This past month a good 100 resumes were sent out but no takers.
Im in a position where i am wondering if I should send him back to college or let him keep looking for work.
Nobody seems to want a greenhorn.

Just bought a 2016 QX50 which I really like except I find it a bit bumpy. I could really love this car if i could smoothe it out. I can feel the dips too much for my liking on the highway.
Since its a 10yr old car with 91000kms perhaps its time for a suspension refresh?
While I realize its never going to ride like a Lexus or Lincoln.
What can I do to soften the ride?
I dont care about speed and fast cornering etc I like it plush
