Advice on having a deeper understanding
First year GEM student here. I'm worried about becoming a passmed robot. Any advice on how I can ensure I actually understand basic sciences?

I’m about to start my first year of grad med and was wondering if anyone had study advice. Do I use pass med? Do I mostly use lectures and YouTube? Is the pre-clinical stuff on passmed enough?
Will we ever get more of her backstory, like her parents, any potential siblings? Explanation of why they are apparently not in contact? I think an exploration of that part of her backstory would be interesting.
Or even a deeper exploration of how she ended up developing an addiction at such a young age and some recognition of how hard she’d worked to stay clean. The only mention of her addiction was when her character first arrived and Ravi was insinuating she was a junkie and not to be trusted, and later accusing her of using again. Obviously her character is more than a former addiction and it’s not something that should define a character, but it’s strange that given how she’s been clean for ages they only mention her past addiction when someone is bringing her down.
Plus I feel like it would be more interesting than months of Priya and Max.
Does anyone have recommendations for good long lasting silk (or satin) pillowcases I could find on Amazon etc? I have some stain pillowcases but within a few months they started snagging on my locs and damaging them, so I have to rely on my bonnet but sometimes it’s too hot to be wearing a bonnet.
I’ve had my locs for about 15 months and while most of my hair has been doing well and maturing, I have about 4-5 problem locs on the perimeter of my hair that refuse to stay locked. I have very thick hair and a high density so it’s not noticeable at all, and I have 4c hair so it’s not a texture issue.
I tried washing less to help but I have serb derm and it wasn’t helping and that + vitamin issues made some of my locs thin. My locs are fine now and I was very 7- 14 days depending on weather etc. Any advice?
