What happens to items with no bids?

I found a few pieces I liked but whose starting prices were too high for my liking, so I just watched them, and sure enough—no bids. What happens to those items? Do they get trashed? Reposted for less? I’m so curious!

Near cut?

Hello, experts! I’m delighted by this footed cup I bought at Goodwill that seems to have “near cut” printed on the inside bottom. I’ve read a bit about near cut, but haven’t found anything about the stamp and Google lens hasn’t been helpful with this particular pattern or shape. I’d love any info about what it is (I’m very new to the glass world).

I found this absolutely beautiful basket at an estate sale, and I fell in love but am not sure if I need to care for it specially or even what exactly I want to do with it! I think it might have been used outside? I appreciate any info or advice you might have!

Edit: there were other I bought, and there was also a book on basket making, so I don’t know if this or any others were handmade!

I have no idea how old this is (the plug makes me a little nervous) but I love this maybe brass lamp with 4 lightbulbs I found at a garage sale. Has anyone had luck with getting musty basement smell out of a lampshade, or ideas where I could find a replacement?
