therapy wait-lists and psychiatric medication
context:
I'm an international student coming to the Netherlands in a few weeks. I've been browsing insurance options and atm I'm leaning towards insuretostudy.
Recently I've been diagnosed with ADHD and OCD, I also have a problem with suicide ideation. Currently I'm meditated and have monthly sessions with a psychiatrist. I'm not seeing any therapists atm since my parents don't approve of them.
Questions:
I noticed that the insurance covers therapy to some extent, and it got me thinking if I'd be able to start seeing one when I move to the Netherlands, but I have no idea how long wait-lists would be. And if the GP even refers a recently arrived international student to a therapist? I would have a note from my current psychiatrist stating my diagnosis. (I've heard they usually chalk it up to recently moving and just tell you to take vitamin d)
I was also hoping to continue seeing my current psychiatrist even when I'm in the Netherlands, and I'm wondering if I can have my GP rewrite whatever he prescribes or if I'll have to switch to a Dutch psychiatrist?
Thank you for your help
