Can I keep chickens on gravel

I am wanting to get a few small kikiriki chickens. The only place in my yard that is shaded with a big tree has gravel (I think its pea gravel and/or river rocks) but I wasn't sure if that was safe for them. Do they need to be on grass? I'm out of town so I can't get a pic right now but here's some I found in my phone, not the best lol

Are Kikirikis possible to keep in Texas weather?

So I go to Puerto Rico a lot and really love the Kikiriki chickens they have there. I currently just hatch eggs (different breed) but never keep the chicks. I'm thinking I want to start keeping chickens (it's been probably 4 years and moving houses since I've kept any) and I'm thinking Kikiriki would be a breed I'd want to keep. The problem is the weather extremes. Last winter it got to 0 degrees and last summer it got to 120 degrees. In Puerto Rico the weather is very stable, not hot or cold. 80-90 all year long. Would they be able to survive in TX? Any tips? Thanks!

Accidental misgender slip?

I noticed in the Jeopardy episode Zach narrating called Ash "Ashley". I don't know about his transition timeline or preferences or anything but he was labeled as "Ash", plus in the previous episodes he was referred to as "he/him" so it seemed like he was already Ash at that point. No hate because everyone makes mistakes and I also know they're good friends (plus Zach is obviously an ally), just something I happened to notice and found odd that no one it passed through before airing happened to catch it.

Edit: I was under the impression that Ashly/Ashley was his dead name because I saw a video where he was repeatedly correcting his mom for calling him Ashly. I wasn't saying that Ashley isn't a gender neutral name.

Taco Bell enchirito vs Taco Casa chilada

I guess I am not old enough to remember the enchirito, I also never ate fast food as a kid so maybe it was around but I just never tried it. We have a Taco Casa here which has their own version of it called a "chilada" and we get those all the time so I figured it was pretty much the same thing. Anyways, I always saw people praising it and hoping it came back, then it finally did and I was excited to try it! Apparently it's not exactly the same as it used to be, but tbh it wasn't great. My partner and I got both to try side by side. Honestly idk how any chain could ever make it better than Taco Casa. I'm very glad that people are enjoying the enchirito though! Here is a pic of both side by side!

When you get a cookie from the previous week, was it made the last week, or did they just have leftover ingredients but its still made fresh?

I'm just wondering because the app had several cookies from a previous week on there, I got the thins and they were completely hard.

Screw the enchirito, the steak fajita chalupas are awesome.

I have barely seen anyone post about these but I'm impressed. Frankly, we have a Taco Casa here so I can't imagine a TB enchirito being better than a Taco Casa chilada, so I didn't even bother getting one of those like everyone has been doing. But I'm surprised at how good the chalupas are. I left off the onion/cilantro blend (cursed with the soap gene sadly) but they were stuffed full and really flavorful. Everyone knows Taco Bell has a flavor...and it hits the spot a lot but can also get kinda repetitive. These are the only things I've gotten from here so far that don't just taste "Taco Bell" flavored like everything else.

Father's day week review

Tried a few this week since we're in a Crumbl town. Mine had some from last week too (Nanaimo and snickerdoodle thins) so we got a couple of those too. Probably take what I say with a grain of salt because I'm honestly not hugely into sweet things lol but my bf loves sweets so I always just take a bite of each and give him the rest😅

Dad cookie- I didn't like it. Tastes kinda burnt? Even though its not.

Grill cookie- Decent but kinda basic. I love the mousse instead of coyingly sweet icing.

Root beer- Also didn't really like this one. It doesn't taste like root beer but it's not terrible. It's more like an artificial butterscotch taste. Don't think you could have more than a couple bites at a time.

Heath cake- This is the only one I really liked and I'll probably eat my whole one over a couple days! It's not tres leches. Idk why they call it that. But it's really good. Again, loving the use of whipped creams, custards, and mousses lately instead of icing. Their icing is way too sweet to be enjoyable.

Any pet safe solutions to weeds/grass in pea gravel?

I'm about to start the process of pulling all these weeds and grass from the pea gravel in my yard. One half of my yard has absolutely nothing growing in the gravel, and this half is FULL of stuff. It makes no sense to me but the other half has less sun so I guess that could be why.

Anyways, my dogs are part COW and eat so much grass/plant matter outside they could be classified as herbivores. I don't want to spray anything on this that they will eat and hurt them. I know some things say its safe after its dry but tbh I can't figure out how that's true, because the inside of a dog is wet, so when it gets ingested it would be wettened again. Plus rain, hose, etc. I know there's probably nothing that will work as well as pet toxic stuff, but if there's anything safe that could even help a tiny bit I will take it. Also, someone said you're only supposed to use weed killer certain months out of the year? Is that true? Do I need to just wait and keep pulling them til then?

Does anyone get very bad body pains and inflammation when stopping Ozempic?

Awhile ago I got some sort of super long anxiety attack and norovirus at the same time and literally could not eat, so I had to stop taking ozempic for a couple weeks because I didn't want to add on to the appetite loss. I had such bad joint and leg/arm pain, not from the norovirus but from a flare up (I have rheumatoid arthritis, EDS, and fibromyalgia so I know the exact specific feeling). I did go back down on dosage when starting back up. Since then, 1-2 days before my shot each week I keep getting another flare up. It goes away after the shot. Have I become dependent on it? I know it does help with inflammation but if I have to stop taking it in the future will I be even worse than before I started taking it? I really don't see how I live like this.

How much did you wind up paying for your chair after insurance?

I know everyone's insurance coverage will be different but I'm just curious of what to expect. I had my first fitting with Numotion a couple weeks ago and I guess I'm waiting to hear back. I have BCBS if that makes a difference

Taco Bell boats

Unrelated to food but I'm looking to buy a boat. Saw these 2 on marketplace and immediately reminded me of old school Taco Bell lol. Maybe I'm just stoned idk.

Tried the new chocolate chip. Not good at all

I tried the new chocolate chip today. To be fair, I have never had the other ones. We always just got the weekly ones. So I can't compare it to that. But I will say the one we got today was gross. It tasted like a pre packaged cookie that a fast food place hands out. I'd accept it from Whataburger for $1 but going to a COOKIE place where all they do is cookies, you'd expect such a classic cookie to be decent. I've seen someone comment that they liked it. I suppose there's a chance they just messed ours up but it seems unlikely? I just can't imagine someone actually enjoying this so who knows

Taco Casa has the best cheese ratio of any fast food tex mex place and you can't change my mind

To me, you can NEVER have too much cheese. In house shredded as well😊

u/Ok-Shallot-7985 — 2 months ago

They never put this much cheese in, and honestly I kinda don't like it lol I never realized how little flavor their cheese had til I had so much of it in my mouth at once. Tastes like air😅

Still, hats off to this TB employee for realizing quesadilla doesn't mean 3 shreds of cheese in a tortilla

I just wanted to share how I eat Subway (or any sandwich/salad). For some reason I just can't eat veggies unless they're chopped up small or pureed. Idk why. I have tried forcing myself and I just can't. I know I'm annoying to eat a salad or Subway with lol. So I always take them all off, dice them up, mix them up, then put them back on. I know its just a weird sensory habit but it actually makes it so much better. You don't have to struggle trying to bite pieces off the big slices so it won't fall out, and you get a good even mixture of each veggie with each bite.

Just wondering if there's any cute ideas for what to put over this thing! It used to just have a black cover over it. The airline lost it last time I flew. I feel like I've seen little figurines with holes in the bottom but idk what they are called!
